When my mom woke up on that early saturday morning with her head hurting and spinning, she went like paralyzed and could not speak or even move (Due to a blood clot on her brain) and the ambulance people and the hospital threatened to pump her stomach if she did not tell them what was wrong with her.
She couldn't tell them cause she had so much swelling and pressure on her brain from the blood clot.
My sister had to argue with that doctor in the er to fly her out to UK hospital where our mom has a doctor there cause she suffers from portal hypertension.

It took an hour for the ambulance to get to her house which is only 15 minutes away. (I mean an hour total plus another hour of telling them that they could not do anything for her at the hospital in our town)

I mean in those 2 hours or better that could have busted in her head and killed her.
She is doing better, she is out of the hospital but now in a rehab place to recover.

What do you think?

My Mom let me go stay with her sister (my aunt) on wed and thrus. My Aunt is only 25, and isnt married or anything. I like to stay with her, she is really cool, and likes to do the things that i do. Well, thrus nite she had to run into work for about two hours, and i called my bf over. we were just going to watch a movie, but things went to far. my aunt came home early and caught us. i have NEVER seen my aunt that mad, but she was yelling at me, and called my mom. mom was there in like ten min and she said she'd had enough, (my bf was long gone) mom grabbed me and spanked me right there, in front of my aunt. she was mad, which i know that she has a right to be, but then i tried to explain to her that we hadnt meant to go that far and she got REALLY mad when i said that. then mom looked at my aunt and asked my aunt what she wanted her to do to me since i did it in her house. my aunt told her that she wanted to deal with me...

A parent who is never there or one who sporadically visits her children?

She had custody when they divorced but one day she called CFS and said she couldn't do it anymore and for the past 3 years he's had custody of them. She may see them 3 weekends or a couple hours on the weekends out of a month and then not see them for 2 months, leaves the country and tells her children she is moving but returns a few months later with no phone calls while she is gone, will not see the children because of the father even though the father has made arrangments for the kids to be picked up at his parents while he is not there. She quits her job to avoid paying child support then bitches at the father for the kids for having shoes that are falling apart. She doesn't have a permanent address. She constantly threatens to take him to court (I'm no lawyer but I doubt she has a strong case) for custody again. It's putting him through a lot of stress and doesn't have the money to go for sole custody

My daughter has picked her favourites and we store them in a small bin.

My question is, what to do with the excess - would any charity want Happy Meal toys?
Or any other ideas would be appreciated.

And what did you have to give up after having your children? Do you ever regret it? Trying to make the decision of wether or not I want to have any kids yet and wonder what I'll give up to have them.

What's the consensus on this? Am I being paranoid or a good mother? I have a son with developmental disabilities, and I don't want my 3 y.o. to suffer this as well. I'm sure my insurance would cover it. Best to err on the side of caution? I'd hate to imagine if he tested positive, I would sue the h.ell out of them!

Thoughts???

since i was a toddler, the one thing that I've wanted to do is be a wife and mother. I wanted to have at least 4 kids and also be a foster parent. But just recently, I've found something that I'm really good at and I would like to make a career out of: video production. my parents know i want to be a wife and mother, and they also know I'm interested in the film making. I'm finishing high school next semester, and the question of college has been coming up lately. I would absolutely love to go to Full Sail in Orlando, FL. It's a tech school that focuses on the entertainment industry and an hour away from where I live and I got more info on it throught the mail, and it's like a dream come true heaven in my eyes. But it's $68,000 for the 21 mo. film program that I'm interested in. My parents are really pushing me to go to Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. they said i have to choose betweem stay-at-home large family mother, or video career.

If you are buying for a needy family this Christmas, would you buy the girl panties and bras and the boy boxers? They are very poor and have very little money.

I was spanked as a child and I still have such unpleasant memories of it as an adult. I would never spank my own children, there are better ways of teaching them lessons like negative reinforcement: taking away priviledges like toys or time-outs.
What are you experiences?

My friend has a 5 year old that calls her step father dad. He has been apart of her life for 3 years and spends most of her time with the step dad. She doesn't like calling him by his first name and they have tried nicknames. She was calling him step daddy but told them that it takes to long to say so she wants to just call him daddy. Her "real" dad doesn't like it and has made some threats. Can she lose custody of the child for allowing her to call him "daddy"? (don't know if there is a different answer for each state so, we are from texas). Oh, and if you have found legal documentation stating either way would appreciate if you could provide link....thanks so much!!

My sons school keeps sending home these order forms for school, you know stuff to sell, well I'm NOT sending my son out there,,, when I don't know whats waiting for him behined the door, in my neighborhood, all that is required of these sicko's is a small sticker on a window of their choice., to let everyone know they are a SICKO. the school says my son will not be able to attend certain things because I'm refusing to let him go inside a strangers home.
my family and our freinds will buy from him,, but the school says it's not enough money for him. what should I do? I can't change schools, it's not an option, and I work, so i can't go door to door and hold his hand.

I'm 26 and my boyfriend is 33. We've been together for over 6 years and have a house together. He's getting older and won't come out and say he wants a kid, but he has dropped so many hints and one day I said we could have one and he was grinning ear to ear. Sometimes I want one and other times no. I still have time, but he doesn't want to be an old man by the time the child graduates highschool, I can understand. I'm about to finish a degree in school and finally start a real job so I just don't know if I want to stop now and have a kid. He is an engineer and could support us, but will I regret a later start on my career if I have a kid? I also don't want to let my youth pass me by and get older and wish I had had children. So, opinions anyone? I would appreciate it. And, yes, we would probably get married before having any children....

I have never been so angry at a human being before. I know this is old news, but Yahoo answers was not around when she did what she did.

Has anybody here been abused. I remember when I was little I made an emerengcy Kit. I put in a bottle of water, a book, some food and money for a payphone If I needed it. I also had some pencil crayons and paper to draw. Then If my mother was being verbally or phisically abusive I would go up and open the kit.

How did you guys cope with abuse?

I watch my sisters kids (who are 3 1/2 and 5) every Wednesday for her and yesturday I was giving them a bath and the 3 1/2 year old one looked at my daughter and said "Why is ____ black?" My daughter is White/Black (I am white and my Fiance is black). When he said that I was completely shocked. He does live and go to preschool in a predominatly white neighborhood but their parents have friends that are black and have had them over. Anyways, I never thought I'd have to explain to my daughter why she is darker than mommy or not as dark as daddy at the age of 2. I DON'T plan on talking to her about it now because I want her to just enjoy her toddler years and she didn't even notice what he said nor did she comprehend it but how do I manage my thoughts about it. Inside I got mad at him for asking WHY she is a certain way. I just can't believe things like this start at such a young age. I know both are too young to know better so plz don't say that I just feel so bad for my daughter
