I have worked in the tv industry for 5 years and recently decided hat i should follow my heart and work with kids, i have applied for a couple of classroom assistant positions but im also looking to put an ad in the local shop as an available full time live out nanny. I have for the past three years worked at a summer camp in America (very prestigious camp looking after a lot of celebritys children) teaching musical theatre and living in a cabin with 12 eleven year old girls for 8 weeks taking care of their every need and dealing with situations like bed wetting, bullying, homesickness etc. I dont have any college qualifications related to childcare ( i do have an unrelated degree) but would you as a parent consider me as a candidate? I just want to now some thoughts before i write the ad? Thank you

I got a couple of doozies here, WOW! I'm talking about EVIL!!! They're doing things that I hadn't had a chance to do when I was a child, and they're doing it and getting caught!! I know that I was a spoiled brat when I was a kid, and I know that I've done things that I should have gotten beat for, BUT I did them and didn't get caught.
Well, if you do have a brat, what do you do to get them in line?
I'm against hitting children, so I just want mental solutions, like, how do I go about teaching my spoiled brats the ways of not getting caught, because the times have changed, and these other adults are more wiser these days, compared to the idiots of back then.

I have a 3 & 5 yr. old. Since I have birthed these to wonderful kids, I have never been able to go to the bathroom by myself when I am taking care of them by myself, even during that certain time of the month...The only thing I can see good about this is that my kids learned how to go potty while watching me go potty..
I've even had to stop fights and arguments, etc. while trying to poop! The worste times have been when the kids have decided to climb! while I'm on the toilet..
As a parent, have you ever managed to go to the bathroom, even during that time of the month, without an audience, when you were alone with your kids???
Any stories? about this?

I know this American woman, and she has university education, and she showed me her girl, 7 years old daughter, dressed for Halloween, and then she showed me the photos... I have never seen anything so awful in my life. She put her into a very short checkered skirt, with her underwear visible, very high, tights high brown boots on heels, a blonde wig, and put a lot of make up: mascara, bright red blush, foundation and lipstick... The effect was appalling. Shouldn't the girl of her age be a Little Red Riding Hood, or a snowflake (as I was many a time, with the frilled lacy tutu), or something... childish. I remember my parents dressed me once as a Queen of chess, in a long checkered skirt with a real crown they made from wire and glass, and it glistened so, and I was the happiest girl in the room. But to dress your little girl like some escort? And how did teachers in her school swallowed it?

I'm writing an english paper to compare and contrast a "fork in the road" in my life. I'm nineteen now, but when I was seventeen and freshly a highschool graduate I found out I was pregnant. Rather than getting an abortion I kept my baby and for the past 8 and a half months I've been blessed to raise a beautiful boy while juggling school and a fulltime job. My essay requires me to compare the benefits and negative impacts of my life choice. I have to write it as if I am giving advice to the reader, but I'm stuck. The approach I am trying to take is that my life choice has made a positive impact, but what I really have to write is comparing and contrasting one of the lifepaths I could have taken had I not chosen to become a young mother.

If you were struggling in a situation deciding on whether or not to keep your unplanned pregnancy, what would be your deciding factor inkeeping or aborting? How would it impact your life if you had an abortion or how has it?

everyone's saying that elementary school teachers make nothing and I'm a smart girl and I should go into some better....

I personally really would love working with kids and teaching them new things. I've worked at daycare before and done a LOT of babysitting. I love it. But it's true. There's not that much money here. I was thinking of opening up the best daycare ever... with really good programs and very healthy food.

Do you think I should go for it? (of course, I will do all the research and get licenced). I'm 20 years old by the way and sick of studying university math... I hate it! What was I thinking...

I'm going to help my (ex)girlfriend with kids she is babysitting this weekend, she has the 24 hours a day for 7 days. The kids are between 4 yrs and 9 yrs old, 3 boys and one girl. Any ideas on what I could suggest we do with them that doesn't cost money (at least not much at all)? We're already going to take them bowling. Thanks!

I just bought him a pillow (regular size) I put it underneath his crib sheet so it can not suffocate him. Do you think he is old enough?

What are the advantages of a toddler pillow vs regular pillow?

When he comes home all he wants to do is spend time with me. And yes i think its sweet and I know he loves me by this action and am greatful for it and him. But when I've heard them yelling, bickering, and just being brats all day or when I get home from work. Im ready to pull my hair out... I dont want to be around them any more..lol i still love them but at times I just need a break and I think when he comes home he could help out with the lil problems the kids may have.. then I can be a better mom an wife.
He shuts his bedroom door turns on tv or talks to me.. kids want his attention too, but seriously he wont give it to them.
And yes they are his biological children 3 girls, 16 11 an 7.
When they have a problem, they dont even go to him, they come straight to me. I know why, cuz if they go to him he gives some smart a** answer and basically says leave me alone.. It sucks to see my kids be hurt by this. Makes me not want to be close to him. He's just pushing us away.

I'm a young mother- I was nineteen when my older girl was born, 21 when my second was born. I'm a stay at home mom,but I'm also in college. I take night and weekend classes so my husband is here with the kids while I'm at school. He works full time and we rely solely on his income, which isn't a lot. We get by fine- without government help, but we don't have any "fun money." I think of other kids that have more and I know that we'll be able to give them more when I'm out of college and working. Right now they're really young- not even in school yet- so they don't realize they don't have as much as other kids. They're not neglected or anything, they just don't get every new toy that comes out, and they wear store-brand clothing.

Do most couples go through a time like this? I feel sometimes like we made a mistake by having our kids so young and that we're cheating them out of something.

Why do people think that spanking is natural?
Why do they think that it has 'the way it has always been'?
Spanking was brought to the Western world with religion and is not profound in other cultures where there is less crime.... I dont' understand why people hit their children and defend their parents for doing it to them. I dont' get it...

2 optionsl:
-give birth to a child and spank, or slap it (using words like 'with an explanation' or 'softly' or 'open hand' to justity it)
-or have them run wild

What about all the other options out there... why to peopel justigy this?? I have 2 kids and they are wonderful students and repsectful and never spanked. I don't get how peopel do that. I was spaned. I remember how it felt and so I didn't pass that on to my kids.

Hi, at the moment I'm 38 weeks along with my first little one and I need help!
Me and my husband have been having long talks about spanking our boy... I know its awhile off but I just wanted to get some outside opinions.
I wont tell you who believes what but one of us says that spanking is a natural form of punishment, nothing that would hurt the kid, but just enough to teach him no. He wont be able to understand if you just talk.
The other says that teaching him that hitting is a proper thing to do when someone does something bad, is wrong. It doesn't matter how light the touch.
We don't 'Fight' about it, but we just cant come to a common ground on this. I would rely like to have the issue sorted out before the baby comes.
I get the feeling he will find a way to play us off one another if we are not UNITED in our forms of punishment. The go to this parent and they say no, go to that one and they say yes kind of thing. ( I started doing it at 2yrs)
So what do you do? Spank or no Spank?

I was spanked when I was young when I misbehaved, so were my friends and all of us have turned into law abiding citizens with good jobs and a good sense of right and wrong?

I'm not talking about a beating to the kids but a few spanks across the backside.

Okay, my oldest son is about to be six-years-old, and I swear, last night my husband and I -- without mentioning it to the other -- smelled body odor on him. I'm not talking about regular kids running and getting sweaty body odor. I'm talking about big guy at the gym who lost his deodorant kind of body odor.

Is that normal?!?!?!

Should we take him to a doctor? Or do boys just start stinking earlier?

i'm 16 years old and was raised in the church. there is no doubt i'm saved, but i've gotten bored with the whole Christian thing and have lately found myself listening and watching stuff that i normally wouldn't be and it has been affecting my thoughts and almost my speech and attitude terribly. i still go to church because i'm homeschooled and all my friends are there, and because everyone in my family has always done that, and it's what we as a family do every sunday and wednesday. i've never had a best friend in my life, and i've never opened up to anyone and just spilt everything and told everything. i have a friend now, and we like each other, but he lives with his grandma (she's looks and acts young enough to be his mom) and Mrs. Brenda has really taken a liking to me. I consider her my friend. and out of everyone i know, i want to talk to her. i don't feel like i can talk to my mom for fear of her saying things like "why would you think that", and not understanding....
