You could avoid the kid, if possible. If he can't find you when it's to his advantage, he will most likely find someone else to flex on - hopefully someone who does not have a desire to put up with that sort of nonsense. If that is not possible, you should probably stay alert in his presence and remember to keep a balanced stance. Make some noise when he starts to be threatening. Quiet victims are the best victims.
If his attack is always the same, you should be able to work out a defensive response such as ducking and tripping him if he comes from the front, and look for a throwing technique if he tends to come from behind.
Try not to end up on the ground with someone bigger than you, their strength will usually exceed yours by a good margin and wrestling someone like that will only give him more opportunities to humiliate you, which is most likely his goal if he's pushing you to test your boundaries.
If he is looking for a fight out of you, asking him to leave you alone will most likely be ineffective, but will allow you to defend yourself when he presses the matter. I can't really help you with the level of violence you may require, but if it comes to that, he should be convinced that your reaction to his belligerence was not accidental. "Lucky shots" do not instill the respect required to be considered a bad risk for bullying.
