everyone's saying that elementary school teachers make nothing and I'm a smart girl and I should go into some better....

I personally really would love working with kids and teaching them new things. I've worked at daycare before and done a LOT of babysitting. I love it. But it's true. There's not that much money here. I was thinking of opening up the best daycare ever... with really good programs and very healthy food.

Do you think I should go for it? (of course, I will do all the research and get licenced). I'm 20 years old by the way and sick of studying university math... I hate it! What was I thinking...

If you want to open a daycare, then go for it. Good daycares are in high demand and you can succeed in that kind of business. But don't give up on teaching just because you mightnot make a lot of money. There is more to life than being rich. I would rather live a middle class life doing something I love than be rich working a job that I hate. Good luck and I'm sure you will be great in whatever you decide!

P.S. If you hate university math- get out of it. It's your life and you're young. Find something you love. Maybe you might like being a child psychologist, pediatric nurse, or pediatric physical therapist. Just a few suggestions- you have a world of options open to you!

Good on you!
Good daycares are always in great demand!
Why not visit a few daycares and ask them for information and advice on what is involved and how o start a daycare?
They should tell you honestly the good and the bad points and make suggestions on how to run it smoothly, (or as smoothly as possible where little ones are concerned!).
If it is something that really appeals to you, and you still want to after looking into it thoroughly, then go for it! You could always go into teaching if it didn't work out!
I hope this helps!

Go for it. You need to go with what you're passionate about, so open the daycare.

Also should you become a mum it will be great to have the daycare and be your own boss, whilst also having the flexibility of having your child with you.

Finish the math, you need it to run a business. Besides the basics such as accounting, payroll, etc, I believe you need the logic skills math teaches to run and grow a business.

Now other than that, its a great idea. Go for it. Sounds like since you are in school, take classes in both child development and business.

Lastly, I wouldnt call it something better. Just something different.
