I was at the gas station the other day, waiting for my mother to get finished paying. While waiting I saw two women drive up. One was sitting in the front seat smoking. I then noticed a tiny little baby, couldnt be older then a few months old. I was just completly disgusted and wanted to go smack the women. Obviously I didnt but it just broke my heart. An innocent little baby sitting there breating second hand smoke, a type which has been sugested to be worse then smoking itself.

So I raise the question. As a few cities across the U.S have tried to make it illegal. Do you think it should be illegal to smoke with a child in the backseat? As well as what do you think of it.

To me it's the same as abuse.

to a playdate or party? Especially when the other child wasn't invited. Do they not know about the 3's a crowd rule? Why do some people consider their children joined at the hip? As a single mother of my one and only child, I don't understand this?

My daughter is 14 turning 15 in January. She is behind my back and against my pleading with her seeing an 18 year old boy who has been (even publicly at parties according to my older daughter and friends) sexually active. Even his myspace is covered with pictures of scantly dressed girls. Texas says if he is over 3 years older (which he is) it would be statutory rape if they do that. They both know this.
I was still tucking her in bed until she met this boy. Am I being overly protective and babying her? Should I stick to my guns and try to keep them apart or give them a chance ? She won't speak to me anymore.
She's been withdrawn for a couple of weeks now.

I'm kinda depressed and I want to tell my parents but I dont know how and I dont know how they'd react. I've told them before and they played it off like a joke like "oh haha thats funny hun"
My parents are the kind of people who like to pretend everything is fine and they aren't very affectionate. I'm just really unhappy, but I dont know how to tell them. I think if I tell them, I'll be letting them down so I go through everyday wearing a fake smile. They're really worried about my brother and his college and I'm kinda getting forgotton. I'm 14 and I just feel like everythings falling apart. I can't go to my school, I'm homeschooled so no counslers or crap. I dont have any friends, they all ditched me when I wouldn't smoke pot, so no help there either.
If your 14 year old daughter was depressed would you want her to tell you?
How should I tell my parents?

There is a difference between spanking for discipline and abuse. "Spare the rod, spoil the child," it's in the Bible. Today kids know they cannot be touched.....that's the PROBLEM w/ schools and lack of respect for authority.

I have memories of my mother putting petroleum jelly on my two sisters and my vaginal area because we claimed we were hurting down there. Is this common? Do any parent out there know why this was done? I thinks its weird all three of us were hurting we were probably around 3-8 years old.

I ask because later in my teens i found child porn on my dads computer and than that memory came to mind recently and is making me think the worse. Help!

well im not a mom yet but i have strong beliefs about it. i feel spanking is wrong and lazy and hypocritical, i believe boundaries are very important and its wrong to spoil a child but they are people too and their feelings matter and they should also be treated with respect as much as you expect it, and that you shouldn't judge your child for their orientation or any other reason that you should love them unconditionally, and that being affectionate with your children is very important. i also feel that one of the greatest gifts you can give your child is to feed them healthily from the beginning, even if you can't.

i believe in positive time out, i think yelling is wrong, but i also think letting your children run the show is incredibly harmful for them.

anyone agree?

I was talking with a gentleman today that told me quite a horror story about an adopted girl that accused him of molestation. They took the three girls out of the home and basically cleaned him out financially. There is no way that this guy was a Pedofile.

I don't say that because I think I know, it is a cold hard fact and it was proven he was innocent.

Is Social Service praying on children as a means to tap into our money?

Do they have too much power?

What if you are next?

This is really a VERY serious question in order to possibly help some teens on here. I don't condone it but I personally , would put my daughter on birth control as my mother did for me. Girls ALWAYS say "I can't tell my parents because they'll kill me" or similar. NO ONE IS GOING TO KILL YOU OR HATE YOU. I'm a mom of a son and he and his fiance got pregnant young. BOTH though they were going to deal with HELL. Guess what?? Things happens (just don't do it on purpose please) but when things "happen" you "deal " with them. Both of the families came together for TOTAL support. The mom has stayed in school and working and my son is almost a corpsman now. My 13 month old grandson is AWESOME and very much loved (and SO are his parents). I hope adults answer on here. What would you do if you child (teenager 16+) came home and told you they were pregnant or got someone pregnant - or do you have a story relating to this?

My child will be born on January 1 (if he's on time) and I wanted to buy some cute shoes for him for the summer, I am not sure what size he will be though. I know that it will not be the same for any child but is there a website where you can see how big your child's feet will be at a certain age? I tried googling it but I can't find anything

I want to start potty training my son... He's 15 months old and his diapers are starting to stay dry for longer periods of time after drinking juice and eating... his bowl movements aren't exactly regular yet, although i do not about how long to wait after he eats a solid meal before I should expect the dirty diaper... I've heard it's harder to potty train boys than it is girls, but seeing as he's my first I don't think that'll be a huge problem for me because it's not like I've already had a girl and potty trained her anything... My question is, what are some things that worked for you guys when starting to potty train.. I know I have to put him on there continously and try to make sure he goes before letting him back up and making a big deal when he does go in it and that it's good to put him on it when I'm upstairs in the bathroom, but is there anything personal that you did that made it any easier on you? He already has a potty it transitions from a potty chair with a back to being

Do you agree with spanking children as a form of discipline or do you see it as child abuse? Have you found forms of punishment that actually work. Do you feel it should be a parental choice or against the law? Were you spanked as a child? Sorry for so many questions at once but I wanted some views on this issue. Thanks for all your answers.

i dont have a 13 year old but thinking about it when i was 13, my mum put me on the pill right away. She said that it didnt mean that i was given permission to have sex- but if i was to, i'd be protected.

Would you do the same so you wouldnt have youe 13 year old coming back pregnant at a early age or do you think its setting a bad example and showing her it means she can do anything she wants.

I just want to know other peoples different opinions

When they want to keep them 24-7 therefore leaving the parent with no responsibility? Buying them everything and not teaching them any value?
