that's only second cousins, there should be no problems with that, except in the unlikely case that they both happen to have a same recessive defect in their genes. The chances of that happening reduce drastically with each step away in closeness - siblings, the chances are about one out of four IF both parents actually have such a gene, first cousins about one in sixteen, second cousins about one in two-hundred-fifty-six, which is approximately the same as perfect strangers. Recent statistics show a 3% chance of delivering a baby with birth defects among UNRELATED couples. About one in ten of those disorders is hereditary, so the chances, even among unrelated parents is about one in three-hundred-thirty-three.
And that's only if there is a history of having some kind of genetic defect in the family to begin with.
Don't trust my math though, it was never my strong subject in school. There are places where people can get genetic counselling - they get a family history and can tell you what the chances are that there will be any problems, or if there are, if they will be serious.

It has not yet been proven wrong, scientifically or religiously. Did you know that the children of twins are half brother and sister to each other! One of the problems in first cousine marriage is that if the couple separate, it will also greatly effect their families since they are closely related. Personally I don't think think there is anything wrong with cousines getting married. But since ppl around the globe are easily connected to each other than 3000 years ago, therefore it should be more choices to pick a spouse. Long time ago, ppl were limited to their own communities, but this is no longer the case. As you may have seen in all this enteries, it's all opinion, no profe. So it should be okay no big deal. Again, genes tend to breed better with different races.... but not necessarily any big threat.

In India, this is allowed. Boy can marry his father's sister's daugther or his mother's brother's daughter. No harm. But, marrying in same blood group should be avoided. the reason is one may not conceive and if conceived, risk of delivering a deformed child is more.

Is not scientifically or even religiously wrong.
However, there is a cultural taboo in some societies. The likelihood of both cousins carrying the same recessive (non dominant) gene of a genetic disease is very low, but slightly higher than if they were not cousins; therefore the misunderstanding.

Well I dont know where you live, but in North Carolina that is illegal. I think scientifically you must be 3rd or 4th cousins to be out of the way of birth defects. Why would cousins want to be married?

It is illegal in most states.
Most of the time if they were to marry and have children the children could have a multi of health problems.
This is really not a good idea.

It's risky that two dominant genes could cause an abnormality in the offspring. I think if people want to make fun of inbreeding, instead of country white people, they should look at the intercity, urban hip-hop community.

that question varies from state to state however on a moral level and offspring defect side of the question the answer is no they should not marry due to the increase chances of complications from the inbreeding
