I'm going to help my (ex)girlfriend with kids she is babysitting this weekend, she has the 24 hours a day for 7 days. The kids are between 4 yrs and 9 yrs old, 3 boys and one girl. Any ideas on what I could suggest we do with them that doesn't cost money (at least not much at all)? We're already going to take them bowling. Thanks!

Go to the dollar store and have a hayday. Get some coloring books and crayons, get a puzzle for the olders. Im sure you've got some movies somewhere to watch. And while you're at the dollar store, get some popcorn. During the day, take them outside and since it's autumn, rake up the leaves and let them play in the leaves. All of them will enjoy this. Have a movie night the first night and the last night, a bowling night, a board/card game night, a dressup night (let the kids take each of you, two on one, dress each of you up...even with makeup to have a contest on which group of two kids dressed yall up the best and give them all little treats after you call it a tie), cooking night (let the kids pick out what they want for dinner and once they pick it, let them help make it. And lastly, one night, get some dining room chairs together and get a BIIIIG blanket and make a "tent" for them or you can drape a big blanket or quilt across the living room (if there is enough furniture) to make a tent. Tell some stories (not scary stories...maybe research some funny stories or jokes, etc. to do. and read a couple of books. The only thing you really need to make sure of is that they all go to bed at a decent time. As long as they've had fun, they shouldn't give you a fuss about going to bed. GOOD LUCK and have fun!

anything to do with nature is great, free, and interesting and entertaining. Even if you go to a park and have a leaf finding contest, or bring peanuts for the critters. See how many different birds you can spot. Plus the kids can run around and use up energy !!! make up races for them or contests. Or if the weather doesn't permit, your local library probably has all kinds of videos to check out for free, and maybe even get them interested in books relating to birds, critters, etc. to make a day of a visit there. There is probably some cool books on craft stuff to do as well. Hope this helps !

Kickball in a park. Go to the internet and get plans for Origami Paper airplanes then fly in the yard. Tour a toy store without buying anything! Have a PP&J Picnic at a playground. If you are near a lake or the ocean go build sand castles without going in the water. Libraries are always good!

At night Homemade Taco's for dinner then rent movies and make smores in the microwave!

Good Luck!

How about the park to kick around a ball, kick the can game, tag, eye spy, cards(go fish, rummy, old maid, etc.),walk to explore nature, drawing, coloring, even play house, build a house out of blankets over chairs. Think of stuff that you may have done as a kid that didn't cost you any money. All kids love to build and create. Put on a play of a favorite story.
Good Luck! You will do fine.
