I want to tell her the truth, as "when mommy and daddy want a baby, we take some special mommy/daddy time" doesnt work anymore... heh.

Anyone know any good resources online? And when did you tell your kids the truth?

I have 11 months old son... we are thinking about having another one after he turns 1. Maybe like when he is 1 years old and 2 months... Do you think it is too early? Diaper mode? and etc? I need your opinions and advices..

In my heart, I really want to have another one soon so my son can have a closer age sibling.

If your kid does something bad along with one
of his friends (six year olds) and it is bad enough
that you punish your kid by not letting him go to
the ice capades (after several warnings), should you
call the other kid's parents to report what happened or
just forget about it. It's not like they murdered someone,
just kid stuff. But it seems like these days you should not
tell another parent their kid misbehaved or they get mad
at you.

I already have a question posted about how I can't seem to actually get moving to be ready for my new baby even though I'm really excited about him and it's a planned pregnancy. But has anyone else ever felt completely absorbed in their first child with their second pregnancy? I can't seem to get enough cuddles and time in with my son. I feel completely obsessed with my son. I hate even sending him to school right now. I just can't get enough of him. Everywhere he goes in the house I feel like a lost puppy and have to follow him. I am always babying him and buying him new stuff and I haven't even bought the baby I'm five months pregnant with a single thing. I imagine some of this attachment is hormones because I cry everytime he says he loves me or if I get a headache he tries to make me lay down and wants to take care of me. He's an awesome kid.

She insists on only Hardee's because their sauces have more vitamins. I think a little variety is good in a child's diet. What can I do to get her to see the light? Our children's nutrition is at stake here!

I have never met a girl who was given punishment spankings. I guess that it is because fathers do most of the punishing, and don't want to spank their little princesses. When I was growing up, I was friends with a few boys who were spanked, but none of the girls were. Even when i talk to friends/coworkers who have kids now, some of them spank their sons, none spank daughters. Any females here who were spanked growing up, or any parents who spank their daughters? Please, no answers like "i'm sure girls are spanked", looking for facts, not guesses.

I don’t believe that spanking is the answer to every situation, but I do think it is a good form of discipline if the child gets completely out of control. I have posted many questions about my husband’s unruly and downright disrespectful niece. She is eight years old and she is a terror. I realize there’s not much I can do when at my inlaw’s house (whom take care of her 80-90% of the time), but I am at the point to where I want to snatch her up and spank her ***, or either tell her to take a time-out or something when she’s at my home. I am absolutely SICK AND TIRED of dealing with her crap. I am even more tired of my inlaws watching this child act out and doing nothing about it. They have made comments about her behavior before (I think in response to the looks on my face when she talks back), and they feel that since they aren’t her parents they have no right to discipline her. My mother inlaw has spanked her several times, but I mean things had gotten WAY out of control.

The present days parents have lot of problems in their life, and they are unable to concentrate on their children properly. But whereas the older parents are much better and they look after their children more effectively than young parents. If it is true , at what age do you prefer to have your children and what are all other qualities you expect to have children

I have 3 BEAUTIFUL babies with my husband of 6 years. Our oldest son just turned 3, our daughter is 17 months and our youngest son is 3 months. I don't know how many times I get the "Oh my goodness! Why did you have them so close together?" question. Why does it matter? I know that some people are just curious, but many of them say it with disgust almost. Like they can't believe that someone would want to have so many children so close together. Like I'm crazy or something. I've gotten to the point that I get kind of snippy with people.

What's a better way to answer them without going into a detailed discussion of our family plan but not being rude either?

Does anyone else ever get that "look" when you tell people the age difference of your children? I know that my mom gets the same look when people realize how far apart in age me and my siblings are. (At least 4 years between all 5 of us)

My ex and his mother have hated me since I divorced him. Through all the court hearings over visitation and child support, I have had to listen to my ex call me a bad mother, money hungry, and tell people that I'm not concerned with my sons welfare. I have had to listen to him complain about paying child support(Even though it has only been $200 a month for 9 yrs.), complain about buying our son clothes(He claims I don't buy my son clothes, though my son has a closet and dresser that says otherwise), and tell people I spend the child support on myself. His mother is probably the worst about saying all these things to my son. My son constantly comes home and tells me things his grandma said about me, and some have been flat out lies. Just this weekend she told my son that his shoes looked trashy and "ITS NOT LIKE YOUR DAD DOESN'T PAY YOUR MOM ENOUGH CHILD SUPPORT.) ( I just got the child support increased and got the first new payment 5 days ago). She even told him that I had gotten....

(Where are they all?!? lol) Or is taking time away from the fam the 'norm'?

We discovered today that my partner's ex has relapsed into hard drug use (heroin and coke, that we know of). Her "week" is supposed to start tomorrow. We do not plan to let her pick him up. We contacted child services. They said they would not take a report, since the child is with us and safe, not in her care. We are keeping him home from school tomorrow, since we are worried she might try to leave the country with him. But we can't keep him home forever. How do we get child services to look into this, without turning him over to her? What do we do now?

Okay, I feel like I am going insane. Ever since my daughter was born (6 1/2 months old) I have been dealing with this. I always see these awful things happening to her. Like I will be carrying her and imagine that I accidentally drop her or similar things to that. It seems like every situation I am in, I see all these bad things that could go wrong.

Sometimes I imagine that things happen to me and she will be left alone and crying in the house until her father comes home from work.

Its NOT that I feel like I want these things to happen or I feel like I want to hurt her. It is more of a fear. But I just cant stop thinking it. I imagine these things very vividly. And it is just nauseating sometimes. It is horrible.

But is it normal? Do all Moms go through this? Or is this something that I need to seek help about? I am truly afraid though that if I go to someone they will think I am going to hurt her or myself. And they will try to take her.

Please tell me what I can do
