My daughter has picked her favourites and we store them in a small bin.

My question is, what to do with the excess - would any charity want Happy Meal toys?
Or any other ideas would be appreciated.

(P.S. my mom takes my daughter to McD's as a special treat 1 or 2 times a month - so we are not talking about a large quantity of toys)

We used to keep them in a big bin in our basement, then we'd have them go on adventures

i'm sure a charity would like them though

Rather than punishing the good parents who ONCE IN A WHILE will treat their kids to Fast Food and let them get their hamburger or chicken nuggets with fries with a cheap toy, but 99.9 percent of the time their kids eat a healthy well balanced meal at home...why don't they just fine the bad parents $100 for every 20 lbs. their kid is overweight? I don't think that's unreasonable. If your kid is 20 or more lbs. overweight at 5 years old you're probably doing something very wrong as a parent.

Check with your child's teacher. Some teachers like to use them as awards or incentives. Have you thought about your dentist office? I know ours has a small box of toys for children to play with. Many doctor offices are staying away from toys because of the germs.

I was the volunteer manager of a thrift shop for three years. Honestly, we usually threw them in the garbage. There were a few exceptions - the mini beanie babies come to mind. But for the most part, we found they didn't sell, and took up a lot of space.

While I never want to put *anything* in a landfill, I hate to say it, but these don't have much of a second life.

I wish they'd give out stickers instead!

you could let your child sell them at a garage sale.
lol I worked at mcdonnalds for many years. you couldnt imagine all the happy meal toys we have. about 10 years ago they had all of those disney chareters. collector items. there must be at least 100 of them. we have all of them. also they had the dalmations at christmas time. we have those too. but they are sort of cool.

I know when we sent packages of paperback books to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, they also requested the happy meals toys (they gave them to the kids). I've sent my last box now, so yeah, I'm looking where to send them now as well. Goodwill does NOT want them! I get the Kids meals because it fits into my diet better!

I chuick em', they are not really good toys to give away, but are cheap and break easily. When you clean out her closet, those are toys and games which should be donated.

If they are unopened you can sell them on Ebay. I bought my son the Simpsons set on there. You probably won't get a ton of money but at least some.

Otherwise give them to good will.

Usually I take them to the shooting range and shoot them if they are real old and no one wants them....... Small toys usually dont get bought at goodwill....especally if they are real old ones, they just sit in the bins for years..... You could send them to a forign country to kids with no toys... I would but I have no money lol.
