i am trying to get a job this summer maybe, it doesnt sound like much and it only pays 9 15, but the worst part is that its like 14 miles away from my house, and i have no car, or license! my parents always try to discourage my getitng a licnese, they say, its not that easy, you have to buy the car and the insurance, and then you get into the driving. young people are bad drivers and you'll wind up in jail like paris hilton, my mother tells me. my fahter wouldnt let me touch the steering wheel of his car with a ten foot pole. to get to the job i'm considreing, its like a 2 hour bus ride. dad's like, take the bus, yeah. i'm thinking of moving closer downtown , or getting the licnes but parents dont support me, they think i'm still 14 or something ( i'm 21) what do you think?

I wanted to post this question here because I want parental advice. I can't confide in my own parents because they'd be upset&i'm too embaressed anyway...plus my family LOVES my bf& I don't want them to resent him. It would cause tension. The problem is my bf.

I'll admit that my boyfriend isn't perfect. When he gets angry at me he is insulting, he says the meanest things to make me cry (weight and looks), he deliberately ignores my attempts to contact him...sometimes he does this for a few days, sometimes a week,& he will give me the silent treatment, which anyone that has ever been there knows, is not fun at all. However, he has never laid one finger on me in anger, and he is not always this way, it only happens when we have periods of stress&conflict. What can I do to help him stop this behavior toward me&deal with stress better? I don't think it is right to leave someone just because they have character flaws. Plus we love each other a lot and he ALWAYS apologizes. Help?

I know we love our children unconditionally, but I am interested to find out what people actually like and love about thier children.
There are probably too many to name but a couple would bew nice.
I love my daughter unconditionally, but one example is because she is very zany and she makes me laugh at the times when I need it most.

I say "yes". Don't blame your child's obesity, drug use, and sexual activity on them.

Yes, I mean 22 year old. I was in a controlled environment and realize how wierd it is to have a curfew(which was 1 o clock). The rule was, "if you live in this house, you abide by the rules" or you leave. I was a good girl in school and thought messed up but abided by the "rule".
I ended up being really rebellious and still am on the wild side at 30 and I believe it is due to living in such a strict environment, which included not being able to go to parties, or even work.

What curfew do you impose or had imposed on you as a 16-18 year old (I am not going to ask about curfew for 22 b/c it's ridiculous!)? And how do you parent and how were you parented in regards to the above.

My friend Kristina has a 17-yr. old sister named Taschika with a 9-month old baby named Nyoka, & a 4-yr. old boy was eating @ my friend's camp, & Taschika threw Nyoka's shitty diaper in the boy's food DELIBERATELY & made him cry.

Yesterday, a 3-yr. old girl was playing with the baby Nyoka, & Taschika took Nyoka's head & purposefully made Nyoka headbutt the 3-yr. old & made the 3-yr. old's nose bleed & gave Nyoka a hickie on her forehead. & Taschika thought it was funny. So Kristina whipped Taschika's YOU KNOW WHAT & then Taschika went to the mental hospital & didn't even get admitted & she's still running free, terrorizing everybody. HELP!

I have a 14-year-old son who is mentally handicapped and functions on about 4-5 year old level. He his starting to go through puberty and often has an erection when I bathe/change him, which I know is normal for all kids. But recently he has become more sexual and has actually had an orgasm and ejaculated while I was bathing him. I know this is a normal biological reaction, but I'm afraid I'm going something wrong and he'll grow to associate me with these feelings. I'm nervous about consulting professionals because at this day and age I might get taken for a child molester. My 15-year old daughter also helps take care of him, but now I'm nervous about this happening while she is bathing/changing him. Sorry if this question bothers anyone but I just dont' know what to do.

My ex and I were together for a while and i got pregnant on birth control...i told him, the first thing he said was "what are our options?" I told him i was keeping the baby..a month later, he broke up with me. I of course was upset b/c i loved him (still do too) but i got stronger from it. When i was 8mnths pregnant, he said he was so sorry and he was an a*s for doing what he did and he wanted the family back....so of course, i took him back. We got an apartment together and everything was great...so i thought. 3wks later he asked me to leave because he was unhappy and just didn't know what he wanted anymore. I of course freaked and cried hysterically...i had to move all my stuff out and the baby's stuff and son's clothing...with a lot of help of course, i was 9mnths pregnant then. So i had a beautiful baby girl and he did call to see how she was doing...he does now everyday. She is 6mnths old now and the daddy not only wants to come into her life, he wants to be back in mine as well.

My son spent his first 2 1/2 months in the NICU and has been home with us since then. He naps for around 3 hours during the day, not all at once, and at night he won't stay asleep. He GOES to sleep, but is awake in about an hour and a half/2 hours. It's really draining me and my husband. We have put him in the bed w/us and in his own crib. Neither works. Anyone have any tricks?

I am on my last straw and I just want him to go to his Dad's and stay their!!! I live in an apartment on the second floor. My son jumps, runs, and stomps all the time. My downstairs neighbors have complained, that his stomping is waking their newborn up. I have tried EVERYTHING to get him to stop! I have tried Time Outs, Spanking, Grabbing his face and talking to him, Taking away treats, etc. I also have a 11 month old daughter, and I don't want her to be like him at all!

She is already more advanced than him. She is starting to say her A,B,C's. Which my son can't count or say his A,B,C's yet. He refuses to sit and listen to me read to him. He is so disobediant! I just can't handle it anymore. My fiance hates me and yells all the time at us. He can't stand my son and gets furious and screams at him. He (fiance) even spent the night in jail, because he was being to loud.

What can I do???? I think I am already gonna leave my fiance for sure. But what should I do about my son?

has been evaluated as adhd of the attentive sort....did well in grammar school and from 6th grade on has gone down hill...I think he is more aspergers syndrom on the mild spectrum. I don't medicate but have made dietary changes. He has failed all classes in 10th grade, but his computer (98-100). He won't cooperate with counseling. Talking things away doesn't work..no matter how long it's taken away. We have been consistent and can't inspire him. He won't do the homework, school just thinks he's lazy and insubordinate. I'm at a loss. I've put three older children through (girls) and they did well. I'm sad that I am failing him. I'm not putting him through any more eval's so my opinion on the asperger's is not part of documentation. Any constructive advice would be welcome.
He's a good kid, but has bucked the system from day one. His social skills are weak and he lacks empathy for others. I don't mind the repeating of grade just want him to do the work.

It shows vaccinated children were more than twice as likely to have autism. We give over 30 vaccines to our kids. Autism is now according to the CDC 1:150 kids. It WAS in the '60's 1:10,000. Is there a correlation?

I asked this question before & people were telling me that they don't believe I'm telling the whole story, but yes, this IS the whole story. I suffer Tourette's Syndrome, & when I was a senior in high school, my foster mom punished me from going to my senior prom, just because of my tics. Isn't that cruel to make a child miss PROM because of that?
