A friend of mine has a son the same age as my daughter. He is always hitting and kicking her or finding some other way to hurt her. His mom barely says anything when he does this. My daughter is in tears and he is denying what he has done. I dont feel comfortable yelling at someone elses child. How should I let his mother know that something needs to be done with her son?

Nothing irks me more than seeing someone who's barely old enough to drink knocked up. I mean, no offense but how exactly are you qualified as a parent at that age? While I do think that some people are never good parents, regardless of age etc, I can't imagine how someone with a crappy, minimum wage job in a dead end town can possibly give a child anything other than love (forget about education and other important considerations, such as health care!), if that!

My kids ages 9 and 10 constantly have conversations with their friends about MONEY - whose parents are rich, how much they make, what they drive and so on. Also they talk about parents getting divorced, their relationships, and who does what for a living. When I was their age we talked about Much simpler things - toys and slumber parties - Are your kids talking this as well?

I've heard of women that have kids and will marry some guy with no kids and they'll try really hard to have children together, but secretly she doesn't want more kids. In fact she is taking a lot of precautions to have no more kids and will go as far to have abortions without the knowledge of their husband. What makes a person do such a thing?

Ex-wife only has to pay $200 a month in child support. How is that going to help?

My ex-wife is suppose to pay me $200 a month but she refuses to do it. Why does she have to pay so little? If it was the other way around and I had to pay it would be a lot more. I have custody. I only make 450 a week, Have to pay 750 rent and electric, gas and water, 240 truck note, groceries, and incidentals. I always hear of others child support being a lot more and wondering if it is because I am dad is why I get the least amount?

My girlfriend got pregnant...i use to buy her pills every month...i told her i rather buy her her pills instead of her coming out pregnant...well one she said she wasnt gonna take the pills anymore cause her head hurted...i told her watch when u come out pregnant u'r gonna have headache for life! I would almost bug her and beg her to keep taking her pills...i was the one sending her text messages so she wouldnt forget to take the pills! Well guess what happened.....she came out pregnant! I would tell her that if she came out pregnant that everything was gonna change between me and her.....alot! Well little by little i started changing and little by little distancing from her! Alot of things started happening...more with the inlaws then anybody else! I help her out....i buy everything for my little boy...everything!! My question is....does anybody think i did wrong...or acted wrong? I know it was both our responsibility before she came out pregnant...but i still think it was still her

I'm actually on my wife's account, since I didn't find the necessity in making a new one just to ask this question.

My son is 12 years old, and during recent psychological and medical evaluations, no problems or issues were found. His attitude is abominable. I asked him to take out dishes from the dishwasher, and he kept refusing to. I walked up to him, looked at him, and said "I am telling you to put the dishes away!" He then spat in my face. He did this just an hour ago, and I sent him to his room, where he is now. How can I curtail this behavior? My wife is having problems, and so am I. I am at my wit's end. How would you have reacted?

We have parental controls, we have a signed contract with our children about the use of the Internet, we have discussed the risks of and forbidden the use of MySpace, we limit the time frame and the amount of time they can be on the Internet. The computer they use to be on the Internet is in the main part of our home where we can monitor them. And yet I still find them divulging personal information that could lead a preidtor right to them. When I find this stuff (I am reasonably sure it is done thoughtlessly and not delibertly) I delete it, but I want to make them understand the risks and be safe without me looking over their shoulder. Any suggestions?

Why do some parents object to putting their toddlers into safety reins or at least a wrist strap these days?
I brought up four boys on my own and couldn't have gone shopping without growing two more arms (at least!) when they were all tiny and the older two were out of the pushchair stage without their reins.
It may seem fine with only one toddler but it is better to be safe than sorry and I never lost any of mine even temporarily and God forbid if they had slipped away and run into the road!
What is the objection? All of this nonsense about "restricting" children annoys me - they *need* to be restricted for their own good - will these same parents disobey the new law on child seats and proper seatbelts to keep children safe in cars? I never drove anyway and that is why I kept my boys safe (and healthy) when walking to the shops and so on and taught them road safety once they were older and out of reins but when they were little I didn't take any risks with their lives.

For me, I appreciate how he carried responsibility by going to work everyday and providing for six of us kids on one income with nothing left over for himself and never complaining about it. Good Man!

I know this woman that has two kids, one is 2 yrs old and the other is 8mths. The 2 year old boy about less then a year ago got lost at her church for about a half an hour to an hour, then last week the 2year old wondered out of the house and walked away two and half blocks down from where they live. The mother didn't even notice the two yr old was gone after 2 hours, her brother in law went out to look for the little boy and found him at a random house. The family (who lived in the house) called the cops because they noticed that noone was searching for the boy, the cops released the little boy to her brother in law. On top of that, the father of the kids is in jail on felony charges for possession of drugs, and she is undocumented.
So can I report her to Social Services???
If I do report her will she know I reported her??

My parents own a children's resale clothing shop, and because of that, hear some pretty bizarre stories from the moms that come in to shop. I was absolutly shocked and appalled by a mother who worked at a day-care, and said that if parents sign a note, then their child may go outside and go to the bathroom.
.......What happened to the toilet?!?!?!?! What is the thought process of the parents training these children to go outside?!?! I mean, isn't the term "potty-training"?
Is there anyone else out there that has a problem with this, or maybe can explain when these people were dropped on their heads?
