I always seem to get into arguments with my mother in the mornings.
In fact, 24/7.
She is a dentist and is stressing a lot because of so many patients.
She's always telling me to study, like for instance NOW.
What could I do to get along better with her?

does anyone believe that we have to face facts and realise that all this pampering round kids is causing the unruly children we have today.
i smacked my three children. on the hand or on their bottom. i did not use anything but my hand. when they were smacked they didn't do it again
it taught them respect......not fear!!!!!....
i now have three well adjusted adult children who have done great at school, hold down responsible jobs and have kids of their own.
they smack their children when they are naughty and i am proud to say i have been told what well behaved and polite grand children i have. they do great at school and are outgoing and polite
smacking your kids is not abuse. using belts and sticks is.
so maybe before you start stabbing at me have a look at the same question about a year ago on here and see how many people get the thumbs down.....its the molly coddling brigade.

So many people have criticized me for my parenting style. But my family does not. My daughters know that when they misbehave, they going over mom's lap for a spanking. As for ages, I don't think 14 is too old for a spanking. I even asked my daughter, I sat down and asked her if I should switch to grounding rather than spanking and she said no. I asked her if she was embarrassed that she got spanked and she said that some of her friends get spanked also and it didn't bother her much that she has to lie across my lap. Now, bare bottom spanking is controversial, I agree, so I rarely do it, but it works for my two older daughters and afterward, they're not embarrassed, just hurting a little bit (ha ha). Does anyone else support spanking? Am I the only one?

I think it is very messed up how the government has all this money for the war and all this money to spend on other unnecessary things, but women who can never get child support have no alternatives. The social security administration gives checks to parents whose child/children have ADHD and children whose parent have passed away but not to the children whose parents are never going to leave the prison system or if they do it will be to death.

A friend of mine has 3 small kids, ages 4, 2, and 10 months, she is a single mother and although the father supports the kids and is active in their life, she still struggles to take care of them. Here is her problem, she is getting state subsidized childcare for the kids, she works first shift from 8am to 4pm at a mail center. She makes a decent salary, but it is not enough to get off the subsidized childcare. She was very upset yesterday when she went to get the kids and walked in on the teacher yelling out the 4 year old to put away a toy he kept demanding to have. She has never had a problem before with the teacher, but she is also convinced this is not the first time the child has been yelled at by this woman. She wants to switch day cares, but most of the daycares have huge waiting lists and she has thye choice to either pull the kids out and tough it out with no babysitter, or keep the kids in daycare and wait until an opening comes up elsewhere. She's voiced this to the worker.

don't love their children as much as SAHM moms? 1) Some people have no choice BUT to work 2) if a woman WANTS to work, why should she be made to feel like crap by women who CHOOSE to stay home?

i mean think about it. most parents want to teach there kids to share and be nice but a parent would say " your the best" or your the cutest". i've even read some profiles to some parents say "parent of the cutest kid in the world" or something close to that. so how is a kid supposed to realize he/she is no more important than any other kid if they are told they are the cutest or or the best, etc etc etc...............

With reference to my last question I didnt mean to cause offence, I would in no way leave my daugther alone, not now and prob not before, If I worded it wrong then I apologise, my little one is sat on my knee watching cbeebies and im typing over her so sorry about the spelling and grammar (and unless I mistook this isnt a spelling contest??)

Anyways thanks to all who answered and thanks to all for being honest.

I feel what the McCanns are going through but I do agree to a point they are the only ones responsible for what happened as its their daughter, they have just very very lucky all three children where not taken.

I sincerely hope maddie is alive, as even the most terrible acts such as rape can only be better than death itself, I myself was attacked at age 8 and attempted rape by a neighbour, who was left babysitting me and my brother, it was not brought up until years later and something I and my parents have to live with. But they would rather have me here than dead.

I work at an EXTREMELY fashionable clothing store at the mall. Anyways this woman called me a space cadet and said I wasn't paying attention when she was asking me questions but thought I was just checking out boys. I said "whatever", so she told my manager, who took in the back room and SCREAMED at me and told me I had better not ever say "whatever" to a customer again. I am EXTREMELY upset, so upset that I cancelled plans with my boyfriend, and as a result he is now EXTREMELY unable to concentrate. What can I do about this EXTREMELY rude treatment??? I am 16 and this is my first job and I want to just do well. Thank you and good day.

It's bad enough we drink unhealthy products later in life when we are making that choice for ourselves. They make adopting a child so difficult when there are so many incompetent biological parents. What gives?

My kid got a credit card from his aunt (my ex-sister in law) to use freely (limit of 350 dollars) for no apparent reason. This happened without consulting me first. I got mad when I saw he was ordering toys with this card and took the card away. Now I am considered to be the boogey man by both my son and his aunt.

So my question is threefold:

Should his aunt give him those kind of things without consulting me? Should a 14 year old kid have free control over a credit card with almost 400 dollars? Am I a boogy man?
