Lice are a common childhood problem. Having them is not an indicator that your children are dirty or bad in anyway. Some people will tell you that but it is not true. A couple of times we have had trouble with lice. For bedding and clothes, you will want to wash them in the hottest water recommended for the fabric than dry them on the hottest setting. Vacuum mattresses, furniture, the seats of your car, and your floors well and often. You can buy mattress and furniture spray for lice, but I was nervous about using a pesticide near where my children's faces were going to be. Any stuffed animals, dolls, soft toys, etc, should be sealed in a large garbage bag for 1-2 weeks to kill any of the lice and the nits. It may take 2 doses of the special shampoo and plenty of combing with the nit comb to finally eliminate them.

It is important to wash EVERYTHING that can be washed and put it in the dryer to dry - all clothing, bedding, blankets, linens, etc. Regular detergent and the hottest water the clothing can tolerate will be fine. An important thing to remember... be sure to vacuum everything - furniture, carpets, floors, mattresses - thoroughly. Cushions, pillows, stuffed animals, etc. should be put in large garbage bags, tied shut and left for two weeks. When they come out, vacuum those too. Be sure to treat the entire family with a treatment shampoo according to the directions, and check again 7-10 days after everyone is clear and free of lice and nits to be sure there isn't a recurrence. It is incredibly important to clean thoroughly and check often - those buggers can be really difficult to get rid of. If your kid has had friends over, been to someone's house or daycare or school recently, you need to let them know or they could reinfect your child. Good luck!

Put their stuff in garbage bags over night then wash them in hot water with a deturgent with a bleach treatment in it. Like chlorox bleach for colors and regular bleach for the whites. It worked for me when I got it in high school so good luck and I am sorry you have to go through it.. I got it twice and had to cut all my hair off the first time.

Wash EVERYTHING (clothes, stuffed animals, removeable fabric [chair covers], etc.) in HOT water. Try putting in a good splash of vinegar.

I think it's the warm cycle for clothing. And for stuffed animals and things like that, put them in a garbage bag and tie it closed. I'm not sure for how long though.

I do think of of 11 is somewhat youthful for laundry, perhaps she could prefer to help out her mom with in spite of the shown fact that so she would be able to in spite of the shown fact that learn and then whilst she gets to be 12 or 13 she would be able to do it on her own. comparable for the 5 12 months previous, he could prefer to assist in making his mattress so he learns and then by utilizing making use of the time he's seven or 8 he could prefer to be expected to do it on his own.
