I've heard of women that have kids and will marry some guy with no kids and they'll try really hard to have children together, but secretly she doesn't want more kids. In fact she is taking a lot of precautions to have no more kids and will go as far to have abortions without the knowledge of their husband. What makes a person do such a thing?

Love for whom? Their child? The husband? Themselves?
After all if it's their child they can have more (which is not the case).
The husband. She's taking his dreams away.
Herself. To go that perfect to keep YOUR perfect family? Is it really THAT perfect to do all that? Is she really that happy with herself?

For the same reason that anybody does anything that is bad for them: insecurity, desperation, ignorance, or psychological imbalance.

Don't know - I wouldn't be one of them. My dream is to meet and marry a man with no kids, who definitely wants a couple. It seems very unfair for a woman to do the things you described, and it's very selfish. But I believe those people are out there, as are others who are selfish in other ways.

Great question - I know a lot of women like this. Maybe they are afraid to lose their man - so they just go along with the more kids thing.

I don't know. I would never do that. I am a single mom and at this point (my daughter is 13) I don't think that I would want anymore kids, but I would be honest about that with anyone I date.

I don't know. People play all kinds of games with each other, instead of just being happy & allowing others to be happy.
Some people are just messed up.

weird.. anyhow I guess its for the better as the world is plenty crowded as it is... OVER 6 BILLION people here - we are killing our planet and ruining it for the kids we do have.

i don't know why - but if it happened to me I'd file for divorce. if she didn't feel comfortable enough to tell me she didn't want more kids then what else wouldn't she tell me?
