My daughter and two of her friends hang out with a 19 year old who was charged with petty larceny. He seems like a nice kid but I hear he is sex obssessed. My daughters friend and him played spin the bottle, I know she didn't play. He is interested in sex with other girls besides his 18 year old girl friend who is out of town who he constantly cheats on. He has them out, like last night and Saturday until 1-3 in the morning, and they always go and play pool. Is this bad or just part of teenage years?

That is ridiculous to say it is bad, but you need to trust her. That's just silly. You are the parent, until she is 18 you are in charge of her safety and development. Yes it is bad. You said he is obsessed with sex, but you let your daughter ride with him. If he were obsessed with alcohol would you let him drive around with a case of beer. Don't be ridiculous.

A 19-year-old is not a "kid". He is an adult, and should be hanging out with those his own age. You should intervene in your daughter's life right now, because too much can go wrong when children without much life experiences "hang around" with adults who seem to be exploiting their innocence. Be as hard as you have to be to end this relationship.

I am the parent of a daughter who ran away at 16 to another state for 4 months, and I still feel so incredibly fortunate that she did not get into trouble or killed because of her actions.

I'm going to gamble on this one...Um...NO!
He's obviously bad news if he's been caught with larceny. That's worse than plain theft.
The sex obsession...that's just a normal guy thing but I sure as heck wouldn't permit my to joy ride with him.
Now...a reality check...she's gonna hang with the guy one way or another. You CAN restrict the hours she's out. If she throws a fit when you try to restrict her from hanging out with him, I would expect her to lie about things to do what she wants anyways. This can push a teen away.
Best would be to help her realize what all can go wrong by hanging with a guy like that and hope that she makes the right choice.
You do have one "Ace in the hole"...
You can call the guy in for statutory rape even if nothing has happend but, mind you, that's a bit extreme.

Are you parenting your child? I doesn't sound like it. Knowing this about this 19 year old, I would keep my daughter well away. Chubby girls with glasses can get hurt too. Protect your kid. You only have 1 her. She might not like it and hate you for it but at least you will be doing YOUR JOB AS A PARENT.

You call yourself a parent? Shame on you for allowing your daughter to hang out with a 19 year old, let alone a boy!!

You're very naive if you think she hasn't experienced some kind of sex with him. Get a clue

Only if you know he is responsible and a careful driver. By what you have said, it seems he is not, therefore no, I would not. I am 18 and would not get into a car with a person like that.

Are you nuts. Boys don't care what a girl looks like if she'll make him happy (you know what I mean) and no offense but sometimes chubby girls think less of themselves and if he even nods in her direction like he's interested she may give in thinking no one else would give her the time of day.

If all of this is going on, why would you let your 15 year old daughter go anywhere with him?! That is just asking for trouble.

well i know you dont wanna hear this but that is teanage years at least they are not out drinking i think it is fine as long as your daughter knows what is right and wrong and you feel that you done a good job raiseing her and letting her know what morals to have ect. try and relax easier said than done but just try.

I don't think letting a 15 year old girl go with him. He doesn't seem "responsible" its too dangerous.
