I am not sure if I should continue hugging my sons, as they are getting older. I wish there was a manual on how to raise boys because it is a challenge to make sure they are well adjusted!! Any experienced imput would be helpful.

i'm not particulary religious but my hubby is and he just says 'god will take of you, don't worry". i would like to say things to him which are not religious but will not freak him out. he hasn't experienced death (apart from the dog last year) and i could do with some good words of wisdom!

I am 20 years old, have been married for almost a year now, he is everything i have ever wanted and i couldnt ask for anyone better than him. we´ve known each other for 2 years now, i know to some people it may not sound long. i really want a baby, i know i am mature enough to have one, and all my friends around me are pregnant, and i look at their current situation, and its just horrible and i cant believe they are bringing a child into this life, without the babies dad to be there, not being financially stable..etc. my husband is 24 and he has a good paying, job. (college degree)he´s been working there since he was 21. we have a new car (it´d be safe for a baby). we are financially ver stable. he said he would much rather wait, but if its what i truly want a baby with him, then he wouldnt mind. i have tons of experience with babies since i have 3 young siblings. one is 9 months, the other are 4 years, and 7 years, that i practically raised, or at least help to raise.what do u think?

I love him to death dont get me wrong. And he does have some issues which is what I think is the cause of it all. His biological mother took off when he was jus turning 3 and he has grown up with his father and I. We give him everything any kid could ever want. But even though he has tons of toys his own room to play in a huge yard outside to play in, he still never leaves my side. he always wants something new, i wonder if we went overboard with all the stuff we got him, because now i dont think he appreciates what we have done, he just expects more from us? What should we do to make him see that he needs to just be happy with what he has???

i had a son when i was 15 and my mother always took care of him. he was never a problem for me to go out or do anything i wanted. i was also able to go to school. my mother did not really let me act like a mother. my stepfather is in the army and had to move to germany then romania where he is originally from, so they decided to move and wanted to take my son, i said yes because i did not want to go and i did not know with whom i was going to stay here. i did not want my son to be moving from one place to another and wanted him to be in a stable place until i was able to get a place and be able to care for him without anyones help. i've been talking to him to see if he wants to come back to america he does not want. am i a bad mother for letting my mother do whatever she wants with him?

I work in a truck stop and yesterday I had a very bad experience with a customer. Some old redneck jerk made some very lewd remarks to me, and when I got rude with him, he acted as though he had done nothing wrong and that I should have taken whatever he dished out at me. Unfortunately, this isn't the only time some man has thought that he had the right to sexually harass me. It makes me wonder, though, what kind of mothers these men had. I don't wish to blame everything on the parents, since adults are responsible for their own behavior, regardless of their upbringing. However, it seems to me that as women, mothers in particular would make it a point to try to teach their sons to have respect for women. Apparently, though, this isn't always the case. What gives?

I think the most important part of her statement is how she mentioned he wouldnt stop crying...that's usually what sets a person off to shake a baby.... anyone else have any opinions?

Recently we were invited to a friend's house. Their backyard pool is very private, but we were a little surprised when their kids (teens - two girls and a boy) simply peeled off their clothes and swam nude. They were obviously raised this way and thought nothing of it, but their parents didn't seem at all concerned that guests (us) were present. We didn't say a thing -- should we have? If so, what?

Don't get the impression that we disapproved -- we thought it was sweet and innocent; the kids were beautiful and without a hint of false modesty, yet very respectful to us. We were really surprised though, not just at the naked kids but about how well they got along with each other in a very intimate setting.

Growing up my parents made me wear my shoes and socks from the time I got up in the morning until I went to bed at night. This was the rule even if I was not going anywhere. Did anyone have parents like this or know anyone that did?

I have a 1 year old daughter. The biggest problem we have with her is putting her in the car seat. My wife sits with her in the back seat and tries to keep her engaged with toys and books. But even then, it works for only 10-15 mins. After that she starts howling to get out of the car seat. Even music, which she normally likes, can't keep her engaged any longer. Looks like she hates the idea of being tied down to something. One other problem we have is that if she cries loudly for a short while, she has a tendency of vomiting out whatever she has eaten in the last hour or two. So we are a bit apprehensive about leaving her to cry by herself for too long.

Is there any easy way to get our daughter used to sitting in the car seat? Is there anything we can do to make her enjoy sitting in the car seat? Or is letting her cry and realize that crying would not help to get her out of the car seat the only way to go about it? We can't go for any long drives because of this problem.

She lives in a house I own.
Does not pay rent or utilities even when she had a job.
Has no job at the present she is picky about what job she gets, is lazy and don't want to work very hard. She has had jobs and is good at them.
I have taken her around to places to find a job, get applications, she forgets to take them back.
She was going to some classes and was going to quit because she has to get caught up on her college loan to finish it, so I think she quit the classes (which I paid $200 for).
I paid her water bill because it was shut off and the electricity because it was about to be shut off. I am afraid I will be stuck with the bill anyway, since I am the landowner.
I don't want to kick my own child out on the street. I would let her move back "home" but I don't have high speed internet she needs to play her online games.
I need some ideas from experienced people. Are there any other kids who are doing this or other parents who are experiencing this

I am 26 yrs old been married almost 6 yrs have a son who is 6 yrs old and a daughter who is 2.5 yrs old.Anyhow my hubby thinks that my walking around the house semi naked is bad example for the kids esp. our son? Sometimes i walk around in lingerie baby doll thing from victorias secret and heels just cause i am in sexy mood but most of the time with a short robe over it also from same store, bathing suit and shorts if its pool day for the kids so i dont have to change later on, but most of the time i am in my sports bra and exercise shorts/or pants because i am a runner who worksouts (i find workout clothing comfty). How can this have a negative impact on my son or daughter?I mean they have both children have seen me change and in the shower ect. neither child looks distrubed by this?

She's 15, and comes home from school by 4:30 and finishes homework around 6pm, and then falls asleep without doing chores. She wakes up later AT 2 AM, and by that time I'm asleep because I have work early. I can't wake her up when she falls asleep because not only does she lock her bedroom door, she sleeps like a rock. She's been doing this for the past 3 weeks and I've told her to stop. She says she's too tired after school, but this is taking time away from family and responsibilities.

she is there just for day camp
called me yesterday crying and today she called and said she didn't feel good but I wouldn't pick her up-told her to hang in there. She doesn't know anyone and they all seem to be friends or on a team together and she said they do not talk to her. She has a 2 and 1/2 hr break where she is by herself.

it is for only 1 week and I will not get a refund..what should I do?
Keep her there knowing she is miserable or take her out?

Anyone else here come close to either ripping out their ears or killing themself because their toddler's toys continually give off incessant, non-stop high-pitched musical sounds and noises because their kid loves them so much and won't stop playing with them and you dont want to take it away from the kid because they love it and you dont want to upset them but the noises are like daggers through your brain, over and over and over and over without fail day and night all the time 24/7 !?!?!?!?!

about menstruation? I know every girl starts her period at a different age. I started at 12, what little I knew about it, I learned at school, her grandmother told me she started menstruating at 9, and told me I should talk to her about it already, she's 8, but I think she's too young!
