Anyone else here come close to either ripping out their ears or killing themself because their toddler's toys continually give off incessant, non-stop high-pitched musical sounds and noises because their kid loves them so much and won't stop playing with them and you dont want to take it away from the kid because they love it and you dont want to upset them but the noises are like daggers through your brain, over and over and over and over without fail day and night all the time 24/7 !?!?!?!?!

Leap Frog, Baby Einstein and Hasbro can kiss my butt.

OMG!!! Do you live in my house??? :)

yes - all the time - my favorite is a plain wooden puzzle that makes animals sounds when you put the right piece in place. it has light sensors on it and if by chance not all the pieces are in place when we turn off the light to go to bed for the night all of a sudden all you hear is "MOOOOO oink oink Baaaaa Neigh MEEEEOOOOW." i jump every time!!!

I have tried the duct tape theory - until my 2 year old figured out how to take it off! I thought about just letting them die but strangely the toy is MORE annoying when the batteries run low...instead of London Bridge it sounds like a 45 record getting played at LP time (really really distorted and slow for those of you too young to remember actual records).

good luck!!!

Because my family knows how I feel about loud annoying toys she didn't get any of those (they know that if it is that annoying I put it away or throw it away) so the most annoying thing my daughter got were the big legos. They are annoying because she doesn't attempt to build anything with them, just dumps them all over the floor and throws them around, and if I pick them all up while she is down for a nap, the first thing she will do when she gets up is dump them out.

I saw this and had to laugh! When my twins were small my husband almost had a nervous breakdown over this Barbie phone that my daughter had. The stupid thing even went off a couple of times in the middle of the night. Finally he took it apart and ripped out the sound part of it. The toys can be very annoying and too loud for kids ears. You should gather them up and donate them to Goodwill for some other fool to buy them.

I agree with you. I think they make these kinds of toys with super, super long life batteries lol. My son had the most annoying toy, one of those ring sorters that flash and play music, and I kept waiting for the batteries to die so I could get a break from it. The same set lasted for over 2 years!!! He would sleep with it and every time he moved he'd set it off. It helped him sleep, but drove me bananas. Or you spend $35 on a toy and the batteries die the next day. I'm not sure which is worse lol.

LOL! I hated those toys before I had kids, and swore my son would never have them. Flash forward a few years, and I see just how valuble they are!!! I could never get anything done if my son didn't have noisy toys to distract him. I try to steer him away from thm when I'm not busy, so I don't completely lose my mind!

lol... I agree with everyone else
I'm terrible though. I don't wait for the batteries to die... Once I decide I can't take it anymore, I wait for the kids to go asleep, then take the batteries out. It works for awhile. Eventually they will ask you to replace the batteries and remind you when you are at the store passing a battery display, though.

LMAO!

Mine was the Rock'n'Roll Elmo/Rock'n'Roll Zoe. Those things only came in two levels - Off, and Louder than the End of the World.

LOL. you can do what my sister did, She'd let them go through one batery life and then wouldn't put any new baterys in them. Also she would hide them for a month or so and rotate it out. I've baught all my neices and nephews noisy toys, and now that i'm going to be a mom I'm dreding the 'Payback'. Good luck!

DUCT TAPE IS YOUR FRIEND!!

It muffles the sound enough to keep adults from getting migrains and still gives the kids enough sound to keep them happy.
