Growing up my parents made me wear my shoes and socks from the time I got up in the morning until I went to bed at night. This was the rule even if I was not going anywhere. Did anyone have parents like this or know anyone that did?

I was like that... but my folks could *not* keep house if their lives depended on it... so it was to keep us safe from stepping on something dangerous or gross.

No, the only shoe rule we had was we must wear shoes or be barefoot. My mom didn't want to deal with dingy socks.

If it was winter I had to wear socks in the house, it was cold so I wanted them on anyway. In the summer it didn't matter. I had a yard so barefeet never hurt anyone

My dad made us wear shoes all the time because he was afraid we'd step on something.

Consequently as an adult I hate wearing shoes and never wear them in the house.

No, were allowed to run around the yard and house barefoot. Unless somebody broke a glass. :)

funny thing, childrens feet develop better when allowed to be shoeless. Don't repeat this with your kids!!!
