She is very good generally with it, only really using it when tired, but the problem is she depends on it to fall asleep with, and want her to get out of this habit. She sleeps through the night but tends to wake up and because she cant find her dummy, cant settle herself back to sleep without it, which usually results in me getting up 7 or 8 times in the night. Please Help!?!

I'm only 24, and the difference between my sex ed classes, where they taught abstinence and reproduction and my younger sisters (17) sex ed class where they teach safe sex and hand out condoms is crazy! I know that kids are having sex earlier, but is it really the schools place to hand out condoms to our kids and pretty much give them a green light?

I moved to a new town and couldn't find sitters. My daughter is very well behaved and was very hurt that we had problems finding sitters. She loved all the teenagers I had in. I paid 2.50 an hour for a full work shift (I work shift work). That is the same price I paid her last sitter in a dayhome. The girls were hard to come by so i raised my price to 3 dollars an hour. The girls want more money.... one girl asked for 50 dollars a day. I am a single mom working and I have one child that is calm and have had no complaints about her from sitters ever. (the last sitter said she was the best kid she ever babysat). I don't get it. The girls are all in dance or karatee or at sleepovers. I can get sitters, but it is hard One girl left for a job with 4 kids (a doctor's family) and they were paying her 100 dollars a day. Mine comes to 20-25 dollars and I leave a couple bucks so they can walk for an ice cream. The odd time I came home for lunch breaks... maybe that was uncomfortable? In canada.

When my husband has the kids for his weeks, I have discovered that he will have business trips and leave them at his mother's or with an overnight babysitter at at someone's house. He does not let me know where they are.
Should I know or should I not care because it is his time with them?

I have tried everything I know of to clear the rash...Aquafor, vaseline, desitan, A&D ointment.. help! I had her at the ER for an ear infection and the ER doctor told me that it is not yeast, just a rash but all these over the counter meds seem to make it worse. Any advise please!

A couple of years ago I was watching a friend's preteen son. Out of nowhere, he started asking me about make-up and periods. I answered in a neutral way because I didn't want him to think that there was something wrong with him asking these questions. Then he told me that when he grew up he wanted to be a transvestite! I just laughed it off because, again, I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable - maybe it was just a joke.

Is this common/normal behavior for preteen boys or should I have said something different? How would you have reacted? How would you have wanted a friend to react if this had been your son?

A couple of years ago I watched a commercial that become engraved in my mind. It was a television ad for Lysol. In it, this perfectly groomed, coiffed, slender woman in slacks and a dress shirt watches as her darling little baby flings a handful of spaghetti at the fridge. She smiles, shrugs, reaches for her trustworthy Lysol and simply wipes away the mess.

Seriously - do people actually react like that?

For "watching" 22 month old after he's went to bed. He never wakes up in the night and she has the option of watching him here or at her house, but all she has to do is sleep the whole time.
What would you pay for that?

I have read a lot of questions and answers in regards to disipline and I am apalled at what some mothers are saying! Now don't get me wrong every person has a right to express their own opinions but when it comes to parenting I would like to believe in this day and age us mom's could stick together. In case you don't have a clue as to what I am talking about; I have read answers from mothers stating that "you are not a good parent if you spank your children" or " You should not have children if you don't know how to raise them" for christ sakes people children do not come with instructions! And correct me if I am wrong but isn't our society filled with disrespectful monguls as a result of parents being afraid to displine as we were taught by our own mothers? My mother did not think twice to give me a needed slap and today I would never dream of hurting someone or disrespecting others. Reality Check is Greatly needed!

I do think this Ban could be very good since second hand smoke has proven to be very dangerous. I do not smoke so I guess I am one sided on this. However it does make me ask a few questions....

#1 it said it would ban kids 13 or under from being in a car when your smiking..... Why until 13, arent kids 13-18 important also? Arent those the kids the try the age groups that watch every movement we make?

#2 Doesnt the smoke stay in the interior of the car when it is smoked in when the kids are not in the car?

#3 If they smoke, the children will still be trapped in the home with the same parents that smoke. Is this not just as bad?

#4 they are writting it that they wont stop you for smoking but will fine you once they have you stopped. Shouldnt they be allowed to stop for that if they can for seatbelts?

I just dont understand how they can seperate it like that.

Everytime I went to my white friend's house when we were kids they were always disrespectful to their parents and would call them names like "bitc*" and "wank3r" all the time. What brought this all back was a documentary I saw last night where these kids were cussing at their parents and slamming doors in their faces...why?

My hubby and I are going to a monster truck show on Saturday and I am really excited... The thing is that I have never been to one so I don't know what to expect, and my hubby really wants to take our 2 1/2 year old son with us.... The show is in an indoor areana, and it will be an hour from home.... My question is, is it ok to take him or is he too young?? I know we'd have to buy him ear plugs before we go, but if it IS ok,then what else should I know before taking him with.. It will start at like 7-8 pm....

Another question... I am 6 months pregnant... is is safe for me to go??? I am assuming there will be a lot of smoke and dust, and that is why I am wondering about me and our son going.... Please give advice and opinions!!!!!

Also what should I expect.. my husband says that there are going to be cars races, and monster trucks and dirt bikes.....

The only reason we are gong is because he won tickets......
