I see that on the TV a lot. Basically, when an adult child of 18 or so complains, talk show hosts says, "Well why don't you go out and get a job and find some place to live?" And then everyone looks at the 18 year old like he is a jerk. I'm happy my parents were more supportive. I feel bad for kids like that.

I have a 6 year old daughter that most of her life so far was very respectful, never talked back, and listened when told to do something/or not to do something. Now within the past year doesn't listen, and is rude, and disrespectful. Thinks she can do what ever she wants, and act how ever she wants! Any suggestions?

The Mother of my grandchild is 19,very immature,she was not ready for this baby,she does not take proper care of her,all she wants to do is stay high,and fight.I dont mean 2 b stiking my nose where it dont blong,but i love my grandaughter so much,and she is such an angel,and hurts me very deeply that she dosent have a mother that loves her.

they are very sudden and although they only happen every couple of months, they are quite alarming for both me and my little girl. There is always loads and loads of blood, why does this happen? i also have a 4 yr old too and this doesn't happen to her.

I am an older man whose wife commited suicide when I was forty. I am now fifty. When my wife died I was left with 5 boys ages 12 10 8 6,6 I met a man and fell in love we live together now and my kids are coming to terms with it all. My partner is now starting to make decisions as to how to parent my 16 and 18 year olds. They are strugling with this as is normal I am sure, is the any suggestions as to how I can help make it easier on all of them? (please dont say dont be gay)

my fiance has 2 kids ages 3 and 5.their mother has not been in the picture for the last 2 years.the 5 year old remembers her and has some phone contact but the 3 year old has no idea.their mother has started calling again and we dont know what or how to tell the 3 year old because i am the only mother she knows.her brother is pretty screwed up from knowing that his mother is not around so we dont want to screw her up also. I know she should no that I am not her birth mother but i'm torn about what to do. also, we have soul physical custody because their mom abandoned them and was on drugs. she goes in spirts where she wont call for months and then she'll call every day for a week.she just gave birth again so now she is calling because she feels motherly now.do we let the kids talk to her only to have her dissappear again and stop calling them?

i still dream of having a little girl! i had my son a couple yrs ago and the whole time i was pregnet i always wanted a girl and to be real honest i was disappionted when they said it's a boy!i wasent eager to go buy boys clothes when all i dreamed of was cute little dresses,amd girly stuff!NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG!my son was born and i fell in love w/ him!but sometimes i see moms w/ there little girls and part of me is envious because i really want a daughter!i know that sounds horrible!!am i wrong?my hubby says all we will ever have is boys so im wasting my time wanting to ever try for a girl!!! does anyone out there know how i feel???does this make me a horrible mother????

Some "People" acts like it is wrong for a kid to play with a toy gun and that it promotes violence so i am asking when you were a little kid (male or female) did you grow up to be a violent person and kill people?
(I played with toy guns when i was little and i am a non-violent person that has never ever been in trouble)

My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years. I am finishing up college and about to start grad school and he has a great job.

After seeing a commercial with toddlers running around we got to talking. Although both of us would ideally like children in the future at some point, the thought of being a parent right now is depressing. We do what we want when we want to. We spend our money on things that we want. I feel like its selfish but I can't imagine taking care of a teething baby or being responsible for the life of another human being.

Does this make us bad people? I feel like its selfish to not want children. I'm married, mid 20's, aren't I Supposed to want children??

I'm worried b/c I'd like to have a child one day. Will my thoughts and feelings change? When I'm finished with grad school will I be ready? Will I EVER be ready to be a mother, to devote my life to a child? I feel so horrible!! Help!!

If someone calls CPS will they see that you are doing good as a parent or will you be in the system forever because someone called them? Sometimes I worry, people can be so nosy.. and I think I am doing good, but sometimes I wonder, what if someone sees something that I am doing wrong that I don't know I am doing wrong?

In this day and age, is that a common fear?

I was watching the view the other day, when they said that they didnt like kiddie harness, I have three little kids under four, there safety is VERY important.. Every day a child is snag by a perv...and it only takes a second...... I havent used one for years but there have been many times that I wish I had one... why are these bad?

I've noticed that more and more preteens and teens aged 13 or 14 seem to be getting online all the time, for hours on end - and getting involved in things that, in my opinion, are completely inappropriate for their age. Chat rooms are mostly targetted at adults and can harbor pedophiles lurking to find unsuspecting teens. Moreover - is it just me or should they be focusing on more productive activities like reading, sports etc. ?

What age do you think kids should be allowed to go online during their leisure time? What rules, if any, do you set for your kid(s) and why? How do you decide what is age-appropriate content for your kid(s)?

I am 19, my boyfriend is 29. we have been together 2 years and just had a child 3 months ago. My boyfriend has other children, which he pays child support on. He works 70 hours a week with the railroad to support me and our child. we have talked about marriage we just haven't done it yet. we do not have the money for the wedding we want right now.Why are people are so judgmental of my boyfriend just because of our age difference and the fact that he has previous children?

I am so mad today!!! I am sick of selfish childfree people calling mothers breeders and moos and calling our children sprogs and brats. They seem to think that they are so superior to parents, and I just saw something on tv about now they want to ban children from some restaurants on certain days! Not like fancy ones either, like TGI Fridays and stuff! For cryin out loud, children are a part of this world and you have to deal with it. They will never know they joy children bring all because they are too scared to give birth or too selfish to share their lives with anyone. I just don't like the way they judge, and I'm starting to develop my own opinions about them too. I secretly think they are kinda jealous. But I would never just rag on thir lifestyle, not unless I was provoked, which I was today!
