No actually I don't, it seems this will be another child that is old before his
time. Did he ask for this or is it just a flight of fancy on your part ? If he has
asked say NO, or the next question maybe can I drink and smoke, let him
grow up as he should do.

I think it is awful. I hate it when I see babies with pierced ears, even toddlers. Everyone says that it doesn't hurt, but I have had mine done three times and it bloody well does hurt!! I walked past Claire's Accessories last week and there was a baby in there having hers done, I just wanted to run in and grab he to save her. i have a 1 year old boy and I would never dream of getting his ear pierced.

My little one had her ears pierced at 4 she had asked because her friend had hers done so still very young but it was the worst mistake ever, she had nothing but problems from infection to it being painful and never healed while her earring was in, if I'd have known how much pain she would have I would never have them done, I would never get a tiny babys ears pierced infact now I would never get them pierced until at least 13

haha, good question.
My friend recently had her 1 yr olds ear pierced, and she had mixed feedback from her friends, some said she was cruel, others said the earing looked nice.
I really dont know - on one hand, you are having someone stab a hole thru ur childs ear, and that seems abusive. I dont think I could do it to my child, putting them though the pain that they dont need to have.
I think you should wait until a child is older so they can decide for themselves if they want their ears peirced, then it is their choice.
I just dont see the point of peircing baby's ears - you are abusing them for what? - in the name of fashion???
Although that is my personal opinion and I have nothing against my friend, or others who do choose to do this to their child... but I personally would feel so guilty for doing it to my baby.

everyone has their own ideas on everything. consider this: how would u feel if your mum did something unreversible like this is to you? ok the little one can let the piercings close over but i think you should do the right thing and be a responsible parent concluding that he is his own little person and to do this at such a tender age ie. when HE has no input in to the decision could be seen to be taking advantage and putting your wants before his, taking a liberty. sorry i can't put it any better to you, i am sure you are a very caring parent

No. I don't think that it is ok for any parent to get a child's ears pierced when they are that young. They have no choice in the matter and so are going throught the pain of it for nothing. You should wait until they can at least understand what it is.

i had my daughters ears pierced when she was about 5 weeks old, if i could i would have done it earlier like the first week . they only feel pain for a second, they only cry for a minute, and after that they are fine. but if you wait to pierce your daughters ears when they are older im sure theyd feel more pain then..
But to pierce a boys ears...baby or not.... i would never

I have two eyebrow piercings and a tongue piercing plus a tattoo on my arm but I MADE THAT CHOICE.
Im all for tattoos and piercings but i think doing it to a 1 year old is wrong in so many ways! It HAS to be an individuals choice.
Its totaly wrong (in my opinion) to do that to kid who is not able to make the decision. If he was like 4 and wanted one then sure why not but for a one year old NO.. NO WAY... . It is not YOUR right to do so.
Hope this helps..

No its his body so why should you go piercing his ears, hes 1 its meaningless and putting him through pain just so you can keep him in fashion which he may not even like when hes older its not worth it let him make the choice once hes older, surely you wouldn't want to put him through pain for no reason , its not thinking of your baby is it.

For those that critise people who get their babies ears periced its not your problem to worry about you cant say anything about their parenting just because they decide to pierce a babies ears! i think its cute on some babies and its down to the parents whether they do or not cos its their child and up to them what they do whether you agree with it or not
