I am doing a essay in my English 1 class and my chosen topic was Are women better parents then men? Normally i would think that it depends on the man or women, they can choose to care for their child or not; but because its an essay i had to choose a side, i got nothing against male parents because some males can do way better than women but its for the essay, so offense to my male parents out there. Just if i could get some thoughts on the topic thank you so much.

(P.S. im not trying to get ya'll to do the essay for me but i need a good knock out introduction, i did have "Do you think women are better parents then men? If not... PROVE IT!!" but that's not on 9th grade level so...?

Well, I'm going head first into a relationship with my girlfriend. She is a single, divorced mother. I have come to love her and her five year old daughter very much. We go places together, we watch movies together, and if my gf and I have some kind of disagreement, we talk to one another respectfully. Sometimes, I don't know what to do when her daughter gets out of hand. My gf is SO patient and lets her daughter get away with everything (i.e. sticking her tongue out and being sassy even though it is cute sometimes). I also have the patience of Job, but I feel that I need to cut in and tell her daughter to stop SOMETIMES, but I don't want to overstep my bounds. I even sense my gf wanting me to step up sometime Her daughter is an angel in comparison to a lot of other kids. I grew up with a stepdad who treated me like dog crap, and I don't want to do that to the kid. I just don't want to be mean, yet I don't want to be a complete pushover either. Do any stepparents have advice

I've noticed that my son has been scratching his bottom a lot for the past 2 days, and I have a feeling that he may have pinworm.

How can I test for it? I know it can be cured with medicine, but obviously I don't want to give it to him unless I'm 100% sure he has pinworm.

On http://familydoctor.org/139.xml#1 that site I read something about testing.

But how can I get him to submit to that type of test? And how should I position him/get him to cooperate with me?

My mom's a single mom and that means that i have to take care of my 8-year-old sister most of the time. I usually dont have much time to discipline her because of my homework (im in high school), my chores, and its not like i have a patient nature either. I keep screaming and now she's started screaming back at me. She's really bratty and just doesnt respect me as an elder. I want to be her nice and fun sister but i also dont want to be trampled over by her. Please help!

Though this is no longer happening it plagues me.
Around age 5 my father dragged me through the house, after he made me clean, showing me what all I missed... I had sores the size of quarters on my knees
At age thirteen I moved in with him because my mother and her new husband use to call me names and I generally felt like crying all day. I just couldn't stand it any more.
After that the first two years went well, Then one day I said something to my father. He slapped me on the back so hard I fell to the ground. I couldn't breath. He kicked me in the stomach to get me up. I was down for more than a minute. He kept screaming at me when he finally figured it out, he had to tape ice packs over the inch high welts on my back.
After I turned 17 things got much worse. It was everyday. He would drag me from top floor to bottom, suffocating me, punching, slamming my head against the wall and much worse
I still feel anger towards this, even hatred, I have talked to many people nowwhat

I am trying to find a VERY low toddler bed for my son. He will not sleep in a crib like bed and I kinda want him out of the family bed. I think he might hurt him self with a reg. hight tot bed but would be okay with something lower to the floor.

Hello,
With what the world has to offer us today and the more I see and read about child abuse out there-
Do you think we should have a license to raise children?
If not to scared of Big Brother always watching over our shoulder's
What would be your intake on this question.
Safety have our Children should be number # 1.
So why isn't it ?
They say, "It takes one person to have a child but a town to raise it!
Any answer /s is better than no answer to this growing problem.
Just one parent's view.
Thank you everyone

Do sealed records violate the rights of adopted children or protect the rights of those who give up their children? Please give opinions/facts (and where you got them) on one or both sides. Should the adopted child be able to track down his/her birth mother/father? If not, why? Should these records be sealed so that an adopted child can not learn of his/her mother/father? Explain. Would you like to be protected from your child finding you when (s)he is older?

HURTING A CHILD IS ONE THING.

MAKING THEM ASHAMED FOR BAD ACTIONS WILL MAKE THEM THINK TWICE!!!

My parents left me home alone and I was grounded so I was not suppose to leave the house, but my friends came over and wanted to go sleding and snowboarding. I knew I shouldn't go but I did anyway. I didn't leave them a note or anything which was pretty bad. We went and time went by fast and before i knew it it was 5pm. I started heading home and on they way back my mom pulled up and saw us and said she thought i got kidnapped and they had been looking for me for over an hour. She was really mad. I got in the car and she took me home. She lectured me the entire way home about how she concerned about my safety and really mad about leavnig when i was grounded.

He is almost the same age as her father. My husband (35) and I (50) are very worried and we think maybe it's because when she was little, her father didn't pay enough attention to her since he was always busy playing with his Hot Wheels and such.

Why does she have a daddy complex?? I'm worried about her dating this older man, it's just gross.

Try to force that on other people? I don't see a problem with a smack on the hand. Me and my sister took my younger siblings to the mall. "(We walked it isn't far from our house) my little 2 year old sister started throwing a tantrum because she only had 10 dollars. I picked her up out of her stroller and swatted her on the butt and put her back in. She cried for like 5 minutes and went back to normal. This lady comes over and tells me "Little girl you had no right to hit that child." and I say "Look lady you take care of YOUR kids and I'll take care of MY sisters." She continues to scream and crap so we just walk off. We only take care of them while our parents are at work. Why do parents against spanking think they can cram that down other people's throats. ALL WE HAVE IS OPINIONS NO ONE HAS PROOF!!

My heart goes out to the children in certain parts of Africa who are starving, theyre bellies bulging, starving to death. Our church donates to them all the time.
But my question is...If we (Americans) are going to help, why cant we teach the adults about using condoms and birth control?? Why cant we (americans) educate them? Is it possible to give the adults conraception and education AND give the kiddos some food at the same time??? I mean, if they cant afford to feed themselves, why have kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I realize that us americans have a hard time controlling ourselves, but at leaste there are 'planned parenthood' facilities to take use of. Put some Planned Parenthood Centers in those parts of Africa or help the family relocate where there are job opportunites and better living conditions.

I am a divorced, motherless woman and not as young as I use to be. I desperately want to have children of my own but I don't see this happening because I'm old fashioned and believe marriage comes first; before personal conception. There is no man in my life but I don't think I need one at this point if I can adopt.

Are you a women who has experience the same feelings and decided to adopt? Please share your experience....

Does anyone have a child that they love with all their heart but just cannot get along with? I have a 3 year old and 7 year old. (both girls) The 3 year old and I get a long perfect. The 7 year old and I have literally NEVER gotten along. She was a very difficult baby, she had colic and she has never been able to entertain herself at all. She has to have constant adult attention. She has a very controlling personality, she is always trying to totally control her sister and her friends when they play which leads to constant bickering. I try to make our relationship better by getting involved with her, I am the assistant at the gymnastics class she takes twice a week, i do all of her school parties and activities and try to plan special things we can do together but we always end up fighting. I love her so much but we just cannot seem to get along, our personalities clash so much and I feel really bad and I so badly want to stop fighting with her so much. Any suggestions?
