I am trying to find a VERY low toddler bed for my son. He will not sleep in a crib like bed and I kinda want him out of the family bed. I think he might hurt him self with a reg. hight tot bed but would be okay with something lower to the floor.

Most toddler beds I have seen are very close to the ground. As already posted 12 inches or so. My DD fell out of her toddler bed alot and she is fine. Most of the time she didn't even wake up, she would just crawl back into bed or sleep on the floor.

Most toddler beds are only about a foot off the floor. If you want something lower that that you'll probably just have to put the mattress directly on the floor.

Most toddler beds are extremely low to the floor....maybe a foot at most...definatley low enough if the child were to fall out they would not hurt themselves. I have a toddler bed that also has small siderails built on that prevents(for the most part anyway)them from falling out.

Two out of the three of my children were sleeping in a toddler bed by the age of 1.

For my DD and DS I've usually ended up just putting their mattress on the floor. Once I stop finding them on the floor and they stay on the mattress all night, then I move them into a bed. :) Most toddler beds aren't all that high anyway, but my kids would wake up from a fall of any height, so the mattress on the floor option worked best for us.

The white plastic toddler bed that Walmart sells is pretty low. It also has a "rail" down part of it. It is just a few inches off the floor. My youngest son uses this bed and he has no problems with it at all.

Take down the side rail on the baby bed and lower the mattress as low as it will go, then put a nice fluffy blanket or rug in the floor.

My advice would be to just put a mattress on the floor. My son would roll around so much at nite in his crib that is would keep him awake. So I just threw a full size mattress on the floor to see if it would help and sleep and YEP! it sure did!!! Plus he used to think it was cool to go running and flop on his bed!

My son is in his toddler bed which is his crib with the front taken off. We have a rail on his bed so he doesnt fall out. We purchased it at Wal-Mart for about 17.00. Its well worth it.
