"some kindergarten (prep) kids are saying that sex is when you put your front private inside a girls front private" I just looked at him and said "really! is that what they think?" He left it at that... and so will I for now. It seems too young for them to know the nitty gritty. What do you think?

I usually like to have a little late night snack. Sometimes, I have to go to the store to get it. But, once n a while my kids will wake up before I leave and want to come. I don't like to take them out at night because I'm afraid they'll get sick. My oldest is 6 years and gets ear infections really easy. They start really freaking out and crying wanting to go with me. My oldest says that she is afraid to be alone. I'm a single mom. What can I do to help her not be afraid so that I can go to the store? I'm at a loss!!!

Here’s the situation--My five year old cousin has lived with my family for the past (almost) two years. He has FAS and his parents have been totally out of the picture for the past four years. My aunt (his grandmother) took care of him for the first three years until my uncle died. She ended up going bankrupt and we took him in. While she does love him and she is getting her life back on track which is a great thing. Here’s where it gets sad--my mom was talking to me the other day and said my aunt was planning on taking him back in about a year after she gets her life “back on track for good.” I am so worried! I don’t want this little boy to be out of our lives. I don’t want him to go back to the town he is from only to live a life consumed with drugs and bad influence. I fear for him but don’t want to start a family feud. I don’t know what to do. We live in Florida and my aunt lives in Ohio. She hasn’t come to visit him once since he left her home--so visiting him often isn’t really in the question. I know my aunt and I both love him so much and I think I’m better fit--to a degree but I just don’t know what to do. Should I get into a custody battle? Should I just let her have him back? What should I do so I don’t step on anyone’s toes or let him go?

The question doesnt really describe it well. When you first had kids was it ever surreal to think of yourself as an authority figure? My son is almost a year old and sometimes it is still funny to think now I am a parent and when he does some of the crazy things I did growing up I am going to have to punish him for them. Its like parents suck and then you are one.

I am 12 yo. In my school many girls used to kick boys in the balls for fun and the boys never ever hit back! I can not understand why the boys did nothing, if they hit back that sh*it would stop fast. The girls that used to do it know that it hurts like hell, they know that can stop them from having babies, and they know that the boys feel abused, but they do it anyway and not only they thik is funny but I suspect they also get some kind of sexual satisfaction! And most of the girls that don’t do it think its funny and laugh at the poor boys when it happens, and that makes me mad!
Last week a boy got kneed in the cafeteria and threw up, he just walked away!!!
I could not take it anymore so I told what she did and what was going on in the school to the Principal and then to my parents. She got expelled; and all the girls where told in private that they should use that only on emergencies and that they will get punished if they do it differently.

i was thinking about my sister and i, and how Different we are... she is very self-motivated, but i feel that she lacked Support for her interests from my parents when she was younger....she is quite accomplished now, mostly because her personality is to self motivate. i on the other hand, feel that i lacked Both Encouragement AND Support for things i was interested, and because i am much shyer, less motivated, less confident, etc...it's harder for me to "push" myself.

do u think it's helpful to try and Assess what type of personality a child has, and then reinforce either Encourage, And/Or Support as needed? what do you think?

My daughter likes to sit up like against a door or wall or anything like that and hit her head against I tell her to stop but she looks at me and keeps on doing it. I've tried to make her understand that its wrong but I don't know if she understands. She is 14 months old I mean I don't think she knowo what she is doing. She doesn't hurt herself or anything, I mean she don't cry when she does it. I was just wondering if it something all kids do?

When my husband isn't working he's off fishing or doing something. I'm always home with our 1 year old, and on days like today when the baby is cranky I have to do it alone. I don't even get a five minute breather. When my husband is home, he goes on the computer for hours and trying to have an intelligant conversation with him is like pulling teeth. I can't get him to do anything with me. I'm so sick of being alone. IK'd rather do this single, than have a partner who is never here.
