how we encourage babies to burp, but when they're 5 yrs old, it's gross????

I know! Another side to that is, I'm so used to my daughter burping all the time, that I forget it is impolite for me to burp in front of other people! AAHHH embarrassing! My family understands at least, but I don't know if I can say that for the folks in the grocery store aisles!

I always heard it said this way "we spend the first year of the childs life teaching them to walk and talk, then spend the rest of our lives telling them to sit down and shut up" LOL

Heh, too true. You also encourage them to talk, but when they hit the teenage years you really wish you could tape their mouths up
