Craigslist is a good place to start. There are several of the websites that offer free or "trial" memberships to parents, they are, however sometimes limited memberships.

sittercity.com
enannysource.com
shiningstarnannies.com
nannies4hire.com
gonannies.com

I would also ask friends who have nannies, or childcare. Ask around - these days almost everyone knows or knows of someone who is a nanny.

Go to craigslist.com and look under Childcare. Click on your city and then you can either look at what other people have posted and find someone looking to nanny or you can post what you are looking for and people can reply (email ) you. It works great. I was a nanny before i had kids and that is always where I went to find families that need nannies. Good Luck!!
