If I were in your shoes, I would just tell him to stop it, or I won't eat with him again. You really shouldn't lose a friendship over something like that. Maybe, he does it self-contiously. If that is the case, then just remind him every time he does it, and maybe he will stop. Trust me, I've had experience. Good Luck!

lighten up! It's not going to kill or harm you in anyway, so let it go and realize that everybody is different. Possibly he was just raised not having been taught manners in this type of situation, or maybe he just doesn't really care what others think and he's just eating how he likes to eat. Either way I think you could loosen up.

Try telling him WHEN he does it but not later
Tell him your idea about not eating with him agian
Try to set a good example making sure you don't do any of the things you listed (i know you don't but everyone does once in a while)
Take him to a manners eating class (catilian)

My brother ate like that when he was younger until my mom made him watch himself eat in a mirror.
Since hes not a kid I would just tell him like you did, then follow through and not eat with him again.

Tell him how to do it the proper way. It may feel funny but at least you wont be as embarassed. He will respect you for taking the time out to be a friend!
Good luck!

I wouldn't stop being friends just because of his eating habits. But if it disgusts you, no need to ruin your meal, just stop eating with him.

Follow through with your threat and don't eat with him again, unless he promises to change his ways.

If he has grown up with these habits, it is unlikely that they will be changed unless he decides for himself that he is unhappy with them. If you are disgusted eating with him, by all means you should discontinue.
