It depends on the 13 or 14 year old and also on your number of kids and what type of kids they are. My 2 1/2 year old is too much too handle for the average 13-14 yr old. He is big and has quite the temper from time to time. But if you have reasonable kids and a mature babysitter it should all work out. I wouldn't pay more than $3 per hour per child. You are helping these kids out as much as they are helping you out. They are not old enough to work at a "real" job, so you don't have to compete with the minimum wage!

I am a 13 year old and I babysit I get 5 to 10 dollars an hour they let the kids choose. Which I personally think is a GREAT idea so your kids dont feel as if they have no say in anything.

How old is your child(ren)? I pay teens about $3/hr, $5 for two kids per hour and about $7 for three kids. I pay adults more because I expect them to do more, like get my kids ready for bed etc. I do not leave my 18 month old with teens younger than 17, I just don't think they're as able to handle my baby with the big brothers being crazy or as able to handle emergencies. I only let a teen watch my older boys.

no, absolutely not. at this age there is no way that they would be able to handle an emergency as an adult would. plus, if they had to take the baby to the doc. or ER how would they get there. depending on where you live it might be better to take someone to the ER yourself in case of an emergency if you would have to wait for a long time on an ambulance. a 14 year old just isn't mature enough to be watching a child alone.

I personally wouldnt allow a 13 or 14 year old watch my children. Not saying that they cant be mature, but the fact is that they are still children and I dont think they are ready to fully take care of other people's children.

Only if the teenager is responsible. Let her know that u have cameras on her and she is monitored, That way, she will be a better babysitter and be alert.
U should pay her at least min. wage.
It used to be pay babysitters 1 dollar an hour but those days are long gone.

If she is responsible and mature then yes I would hire her. The pay depends on how many kids you have and their age but it's normally $5 an hour per kid.. ( I think)

Depends on how many kids you have, their ages and how well you know her. Some 13-14 year olds are mature/responsible enough to handle it- others aren't.
