You should discuss this with her pediatrician.
My daughter was also a little underweight when she was around that age. Her doctor suggested giving her pediasure for extra calories. That, along with a high calorie diet, worked. She is now at a normal, healthy weight.

I have a not quite 25 pound 3 year old. She was also born at a normal weight. She was fed a combination breast milk and formula (supply issues.) She was in a rear facing carseat until she was 16 months old because she wasn't 20lbs. And to top it off she was also in the 75th percentile for height. My doctor was never overly concerned about it. As long as she was developing normal otherwise not to worry about it. I was also told to just keep offering her food but not to force it on her or make it a big deal. Those growth chart percentiles are averages, which mean that they also include the obese babies. Smoothies are a great way of sneaking in calories when she was on an eating strike day. And some advice on pants, once she can were 18-24 months sizes check out old navy and gap for pants because the best adjustable waist bands for skinny ones.

I have a brother who weighed 14 pounds at two months old, many moons ago. My youngest brother didn't weigh 14 pounds until he was over a year old. He was a small child with a LOT of energy. Point is, all babies are different. If you're not a formula feeder, don't use it to boost calories. There are better ways to boost caloric intake. Offer your child an extra snack every day, an extra cup of juice - something as simple as those things will boost a baby's calories up quite nicely as long as you don't overdo it.

Did the Dr. say she needs more calories? 14 pounds is not excessively small for a 10 month old, my daughter weighed that at one year. She always tracked along the same percentile on the growth chart, she was in the lower percentiles and still is at the age of 6. Some kids are just smaller. If your daughter seems satisfied and is not fussy or hungry, then don't try to add more calories.

I added Rice cereal to my son's formula when he did this - some doctors advise against it - mine recommended it. I would make for instance a 8 oz bottle (4 scoops of formula, 4 scoops of rice cereal) and make the hole in the nipple a little larger. This PILED on the pounds for my preemie :) Good luck, and if you're concerned, talk to your child's doctor.
Also, at 10 months, I'd sometimes have to add 1/2 bottle of the 1st foods to the bottle for flavor (bananas/peaches/pears/etc.)

Hi! I haven't experienced this problem with my baby. She is 7 months old and weighs 20 lbs. Give her some pediasure and feed her as much as she'll eat, mommy! But don't worry too much if she is in good health because some babies are just smaller than others. Try feeding her Teddy Grahams, custard, cheerios, goldfish, and snacks like that in between meals. You don't want to force her to eat but offering doesn't hurt.

Try giving him a more healthier diet and more healthy snacks. Those pediasure drinks may help more also. I would check the babycenter.com and see what the other mothers with the same problem do
