I have a 16 yr old whos dad moved to florida.just two months after we divorced. Which now has been 6 yrs.He skip 2 years of support. When he did finally pay they have to take it from his wages. As of right now he owes like 3,000 in back cause all he sends is his recent support to her.The two years he went without paying was like 10,000 he owed but the paperwork that DHR had they some how lost. Her dad never hardly calls her very seldom comes to see her.She wont go there cause her step mom dogs her mother alot.To the point,She called to ask her dad if he could send her maybe 25.00 extra aside her support and her step mom made the comment that ,Isn't that what child supports for?Is it me or does it sound like they only see her as child support?

I have been having a debate with my sister in law. In short she has been trying to say that "Nobody has spanked there kids since the 60's" I know my mom sure did when I was a kid. For the most part she thinks my mom was the only one. Im just tryin to prove a point to her, so I ask- DID ANYONE ELSES PARENT's SPANK THEM growing up ?

Everyone says I should report them but here's the thing. They really seem to be loving parents and I'm afraid that even if I report them and the authorities go to them and see what's going on that they won't see any harm being done. I mean most of the time when I see them her dad is hugging her before he goes to work. They are nice and caring parents but sometimes they are just ignorant to the fact that what they are doing (or not doing) could put their child at harm. What to do? I'm afraid reporting them would do nothing and if I report them and they don't find her in any harm I am going to be VERY mad.

How can a mother or a father look at their beautiful baby and hit him/her. How can you be so disgusting, and hit your child like that. There's this show on dr. phil, about a mother who constantly belittles her children and beat them. it makes me want to vomit, it's disgusting and people like that don't deserve to be parents, they don't deserve to be a functioning member of society. They should be tied down and beaten, to see how they like it. God it just makes me sick...

What's so great about being a parent? I know that some would say that we're supposed to reproduce but what's so great? I have nothing at all against children but I think they are over rated. I think people would be happier without children. That's a life long commitment to someone. Why would anyone purposly do that? It's so many other things in life to do other than raise children.

You see, everyone says I should report them but I don't know if they would take me seriously. I mean, it's not like those things happen everyday, or every week even. It's just that since they moved in (approx. 5 months ago or so) I've seen those things happen. Of course, they might happen more often then I see given I don't sit at my window all day and watch them. But they do happen every once in awhile. I have no evidence these things are happening except for seeing them with my own eyes and collecting proof might take awhile and by that time who knows what would happen to the poor child. It's not like they're beating her or not feeding her or anything, they are just reckless and kind of have that "Britney Spears driving with the kid on her lap" kind of thinking sometimes. What should I do? Thanks so much to all who answer.

I put this in parenting because I hope to get better responses. I'm 14 and I am way behind on my shots. Before I start school, I need to get the tetanus, mmr, hepatitis B, chicken pox, and meningitis. They are going to do all 5 today when I go to the doctor. Will they put them all in one arm? Will that many shots hurt? I'm scared!!!!!

I asked a question yesterday about my neighbors and their 4 yr old daughter. She runs outside up and down people's yards without her parents even watching her. Even when they are watching her they might as well be blind! She runs out in the middle of the street without looking for cars while her parents are just kicked back on the front porch. She runs barefoot throught the lot across the street where they are building a new house and there's nails and glass and debris all over. And the worst thing I saw was when it was lightning like crazy one afternoon with bolts of lightning everywhere and she was outside standing on top of their suv! Even though there wasn't any lightning striking near her, it very well could have if it wanted. If you can hear thunder then lightning is always close enough to strike and she was just asking for it on top of their suv. The people who answered yesterday said I should report her parents..what do you think? I don't really have any evidence though?

It was a real bow and arrow. He has also hit him in the head with rocks and always cussing at him (He has to pass his house on the way to other friends houses and has been told to ignore him and say nothing and if he does anything to come home and tell us). The mother is in total denial of any problem with her son. Other neighbors have had to call Sheriff on him but he's still a nuisance to others. Mother has also called Sheriff to other neighbor claiming "false" harrassment. He has pushed down and cussed out a 5 yr. old girl and another 8 yr. old girl that lives near him (cussed her out). I've already had to talk to his mother once last year and she acted numb and uncaring and then the boy yells at his mother that he didn't do anything wrong and she just takes it and says nothing. Sorry to rant but this has got to stop. I'm afraid for our neighboring children as well.

I am a single mother of 3 small children, trying to go to school for a better life for all of us, and working full time. My kids father doesn't want to help me financially or anything. I can't find a babysitter for my kids, and things are just not good.

I want to enroll my kids at a school that they would be there 5 days a week and then be home on the weekends. The school isn't far from me, but I will not be able to see them whenever I want. Only on the weekends. Is it fair to want them to be there so that I can do what I need to in order to provide a better life for them in the future, or am I being selfish? Am I abandoning my motherly duties?

Mind you, I have no help, and whoever does want to help wants me to pay for everything, but the father does not have to do anything in their eyes. And that would be because they are his family. I have no family up here.

I'm from the caribbean. I saw on the news a 51yr old grandma was charged with the murder of her grandchildren, twins aged 9mths. She left them in the care of a 6yr old girl who decided 2 bathe them and they drowned. The child didn't even know they were dead. she dried them off and put them 2 bed thinking they were sleeping. Has any1 out there heard of anything more disturbing?

I'm sure we can all agree that picking a day to stop driving just won't work.........

With that said,Why not Try this?

If EVERYONE Stopped Buying gas from Exxon/Mobil(They're making the Most Money) for 1 Month I Guaruntee they will drop there Prices.

They would have to,then to be able to compete, other companies would follow suit.........

Instead of Blaming others(instead of Supply and Demand)We as Consumers need to accept some Responsibility on this Issue......

We as Consumers can set the Price by Boycotting Exxon/Mobil completely.

So What Say YOU?

Are any of you willing to Stop buying Gas from Exxon/Mobil for 1 Month?

I Stopped a few months ago.So have my Family(entire family)and friends too...........

And their telling their friends to stop.Word of Mouth can only go so far though. With all the People here,You would be surprised at the difference you can make.......

So you can continue complaining OR you can actually do something........................

the world to me. My six year old son wants a trampoline and I said yes to him. I know that I give my children a lot even though they are really young. Some might say they are spoilt but I dont see that as I was an only child and got laods. My hubby goes mad as I always get them things. He is one of Five and had to wait till birthdays ans christmas. Well my question is should I get the trampoline even if my hubby said no? I did say yes to my child an his birthday is not till March so he cant wait that long. I even suggested it to be part of our other son's birthday present but hubby said he was to young to get a trampoline at 1 years old. My son wants it really badly. What should I do. Please dont be horrible with your answers. Thank you.
