Not supervised. No adults around.

Definitely 'NO'. It would be ridiculous for a parent to 'allow' her/his 10-11 yr. old boy carry a real bow & around around the neighborhood. This would impose 'risk' both to himself and to other people.

Even if let's say, that this boy 'knows' how to handle one and that he's already 'responsible' at his age, still, this would 'scare' other kids younger than him or would even pose or provoke challenge to young teens who might tease him along the way and eventually, cause him to either parties.

It is not advisable and 'unsafe' for this boy to carry such potential 'weapons' around the neighborhood. Even if this boy is learning to be an archer one day, the very thing of 'carrying these things' around, would put himself at a very compromising and uneventful situation.

Better be safe than sorry.

It's rather disturbing that this kid even has an actual weapon and is running around showing it off and even arm the bow with an arrow on hand .. i wonder if the boy's parents know that their bow is missing ... you'd be surprised how many times kids spin up a story about how something went missing when it has been with the boy all along ..

In any case i wouldn't approach the child and confront him about this .. specially when this is an actual REAL bow and arrow .. i'd go to the kid's parents with caution .. since this child is obviously unstable .. god only knows what his parents might be like .. as a last resort you 'should' contact local authorities .. specially when this kid is also throwing rocks at your son .. better taking care of this situation now than for that kid to later grow up to be a dangerous teen waving a gun!

Good luck 'n be careful!

Is he walking around unattended? Is there a RESPONSIBLE adult with him? Has he been taught properly how to use it? you haven't given enough information to even half answer the question, let alone give an unbiased answer, but I'll try.

No. Absolutely not. Not for any reason. It's a weapon, and accidents happen. The adult responsible for this child should not allow the item to be used out of their sight, even if the child is properly trained in it's use. What if another person was harmed on accident?

No, its a weapon. If it can kill animals and people, it should not be in the hands of a child.

An ER doctor once told me about a brother and sister that was playing with a TOY bow and arrow. (back in the day they were probably made of more durable items than todays plastic). Regardless, the bow was stuck in the little girl's forehead and since the family removed the arrow, there was a greyish gell that kept appearing on her forehead. Her brain had swollen and began to push fluid and tissue out. She was fine later but he always wonder if she suffered any personality/memory damage from the swelling.

In your other posted question: I also like the answer right above mine!!! The pen is mighter than the sword! I went to our local newspaper when my 14 yr old honor roll student was to be suspended or PADDLED by a 250lb ex football player principal for holding hands with a 14yr old boy at the door before school started. When I wrote the editor, it was in the paper the Next Day!! Word for word! That man is no longer the principal of the school! Lets just say he met "Roseanne" that day in his office!!

my answer would be no...10/11 year old boys are not responsible enough to carry around a real bow and arrow unless accompanied by an adult durring bow season...and i dont think its legal to just walk around a neighborhood with it anyways...its no different than carrying a weapon around

Does he live on a farm? If not, then absolutely no!!
He can do a lot of damage and even kill someone.
A bow and arrow--- unless its plastic--- can be construed as a weapon. Parents should not tolerate it and if you feel uncomfortable call the police

Absolutely not. Total safety hazard while in play. Plus, 10-11 year olds are not always in control of their emotions and cannot sometimes rationalize consequences when they get mad in the heat of the moment...

Well, if his neighborhood is way out in the country and he doesn't have any neighbors, then yes. In any other situation, of course no way! He's not old enough to understand that accidents really do happen....
