After asking a question about my son banging/hitting his head, I came to realize that (after running out and buying books on the topic) he suffers from this condition. I'd like to correspond with other parents dealing with children who have this problem. The first thing I'd like to know about is: Is this going to be a life-long battle?

As Christian parents, do you let your children watch "spooky" movies? If you have seen the movie "The Others" with Nicole Kidman, you will note that the film does not display any violence, but implies it and then states it in the end of the film. There are not bad words, and no nudity. But the film itself suggests something that as Christians, I find offensive. But I have children who are interested in movies that are of this kind...no gore, no sex, no bad words..just fright. Can you give me your thoughts on this subject? thank you! I have seven kids ages 3-14 and the kids interested are 11 on up.

You see so many stories on the news about mothers who have babies and either kill them or leave them in horrilble places. What are these women thinking? If you aren't ready to be a mother, then at least make sure your baby is in a safe place before you leave it alone to die. Can anyone explain this to me?

I have a 16 year old son and he's starting to go to parties where I know they have beer. Sometimes he comes home smelling like he's been drinking from a keg all night long. I'm a little worried about him. I don't want him to get fat.

Is there a good way to tell my son to drink Vodka instead of beer without sounding like a "parent"? I feel like the carbs will ruin him. Parents please help!!!!

Personally, I think it's kind of cruel and unnecessary. I think they should wait until they're teenagers.

Have you caught yourself using a phrase that one of your parents used on you? Did you vow as a child to never say it to your children? I caught myself saying, "If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you go too?" and thought "OMG, my mother just came out of my mouth"!!!!

I know she does love me and we get on really well and always have, but I'm starting to realise that shes never been as close and mom-like with me as I'd think would be normal. I don't ever remember her hugging me or saying she loves me, and I've never felt like I can say that to her. Why do you think this could be? Is it just the way she is? We get on really well but I'm worried this issue might have sub-consciously messed me up somehow.

Is anyone elses mom like this?

anyways, we are currently fixing up our current home to be on the market in a few days.
The thing is, NO ONE, will give us a hand, but when they needed help guess who was there.
This is family and friends.
No one seems happy for us either, they say "why do you need a ******* new house for" litterally those words.
But when they bought their homes and needed help fixing, we helped.
Funny, whenever we call u p someone for help they always make an excuse.
WHY?
I thought family was suppose to be happy for family.

things more better off ppl have? But if you boast about having money then its insulting.
Like a friend of mine who isnt as financially fortunate will knock my stuff like my new cooking set, or new furniture or whatever.
So annoying, nobody can be happy for anyone other than themselves.
Or when I get my kid new shoes or clothes, she'll say "go to value village" or 'thats crazy" I dont say your kids clothes are ugly.
