Don't be to hard on yourself, your body is trying to catch up on sleep. Stay positive, the only thing that can make you a bad mother is consistently thinking you are. Your not!!!!
Good luck

oh, bless your heart. You're not a bad mother. You're a new, tired mother. I would suggest you don't sleep next to your 4 month old if you are in the same bed. If you're this tired, you could smother him/her. Maybe your mom could babysit while you take a good, long nap. Even if your nap is 15 hours long, it sounds like you need to catch up. This is typical of new moms. If you breast feed, try pumping even if it's for this 1 time to nap. It will get better.

YOU ARE NOT A BAD MOTHER!!!! You are just a sleep deprived mother. My son is 5 months old and I still am still not getting much sleep these days. I never knew how hard it could be to have a baby and not get much sleep. I asked my husband or mother to watch him so that I could get some good uninterrupted sleep. There is nothig wrong with asking for help, it is hard to be a new mother, so ask for all the help you need.

sleep when your baby sleeps - even if it's just cat-naps.

when you lay your baby down get some sleep yourself. every new mother has her life turned upside down by a new born, sleeping patterns go out the window.

you are not a bad mother for this happening and can your mother help you out when you need to get sleep (you obviously live with her).

if you're too tired then you are of no use to your child - ask your mum if she can give you a hand, even if it's just once a week.

It's normal for a mother to be very tired and not hearing her baby cries...that means you're having a deep sleep. Don't blame yourself for that and don't feel bad about it...but...

It's better if you tell someone before you sleep (only when you think you're very tired) that you're taking a nap and ask them to wake you up if they hear your baby cry...so they can wake you up as soon as possible...

you are not a bad mother, only a deep sleeper. try turning up the volume on the baby monitor to amplify the little screamer. also you should try not to get so tired. sleep when baby sleeps. if you catch a nap or 2 durring the day you may not sleep so deep at night. p.s. maybe you could make a deal with mom to take the night shift some nights. also, if you sleep so deeply it might not be safe to0 share the bed with baby, you could roll over on the little sprout.

you are not a bad mother... u r just into parenting and this happens..

one thing i made a point when i am sleeping beside my baby... all you thought should be focused on ur baby atleast when u sleep beside him/her. making sure what are his/her food timings , what does the baby do normally when she sleep , how long she sleeps , intervals of food the baby takes

alarms used to work for me , i used to keep an alamarm which rings for every two hours , not a loud one but the one u can hear it.

belive me my baby is 19 m onths old now and i just get up along with my wife if she just makes a small sound:)

trust me it will come into you naturally

No I don't think you are a bad mother...I have done that a few times myself...Just think of all the work you are doing eventually your body is gonna need a break! Things will soon settle down! I always try to nap when my daughter does and that seems to help. Good Luck!

You are doing nothing wrong. Be thankful that your mother is there to help you. You will get better with a little more time.

Take the naps when you can, ask for help if you need it. Time will make it easier to deal with and don't be so hard on yourself....you will get better.

GooD LucK!
