orignal due date and wondered would it seem to weird if on the day she was supposed to be born i sent a family at the hosptial that has lost a baby some flowers. of course without putting my name on it not wanting credit. it seems like hosptials do not treat women who lose a baby very caring. once agin i will not put my name on the flowers it will just say may God give you the comfort you need thru this hard time.

flat on your back. Well sometimes, like right before I go to bed, I lay on my back just so I can feel my baby move (I'm 21 weeks). I feel her here and there throughout the day but can really feel her when I lay flat. Why is this? Is there just less space in there when you lay flat or what? Don't worry, I only do it for a couple of minutes to have that joy of my little girl moving around. I was just curious!

Hi all,

I got stitches during the birth of my first child and they hurt really bad.

I couldn't sit down on them for a weeks.

My mum felt sorry for me and asked the nurse in hospital for a blow up pillow for me to sit on. The nurse said they didn't give them out anymore because studies show they prelong the healing of the wound!

I was so afraid to sneeze and going to the toilet was a nightmare, especially as I was constipated.

Did anyone else experience this!!

Let me start off by first saying I am not well off. I make less than $30,000 and I still struggle to make ends meet. I am single (unmarried & no kids).
Recently I started college, which I have to pay for myself and go part time cause that's all I can afford and could not get any grants cause I "make too much $".
At college I started takling to woman who is 30. She getting a full grant to go to college cause she is a single mother. Well get this her 15 daughter gets knocked up. The gov. gives them money to add extra rooms to the house for the new baby. Then once the baby is born, the 15 years gets a free computer to do her school work from home and gets the rest of the school year off. She also gets food stamps, WIC, a welfare check, medical card, and of course once she gets out of high scholl will get a free ride to college.
All of this really makes me mad. As sad as it is, I am begining to think if I had to do it all over again I should have got knocked up really young...........

Here in Denver, Colorado, I started researching the schools that are in my district and all of the test scores are horrible! The schools are at least all 90% Hispanic (my son does not speak Spanish) and I am afraid to send him to school here. I went to school close to Chicago, IL and I feel very proud of the education I have.
PLEASE HELP!! I am ready to homeschool my child or move to a different region of the US where I know my children will be able to learn properly and have music classes and not learn Spanish from the huge majority of hispanic students!!!!

My child's father has been threatening me to get cusotdy of our baby so that he won't have to pay much child support. I live in Minnesota. The waiting list for court is a year and I don't have money for a lawyer and he's rich. I don't want him to have any custody, AT ALL! What should I do??? I'd rather go without child suport than have him get any custody. I cry myself to sleep every night!! He's not on the birth certificate and keeps demanding a paternity test so he can have her. What are the chances that an ummarried couple would get shared custody if the mother doesn't want it??

I have a friend that has a baby. Her son is 2 years old. The baby has seen his father two times when he was born. Mother was forced to take her son for a paternity test. The test proved that he was the father. Should she tell her baby that his father does not want him or be in his life. Or what should she do. They had to file papers in court for custody and the biological father says that his dna papers prove that he is not the father. Case was closed.

There is a possibility that I would have some fertility problems in the future when I try to have children, so I may be looking at adoption.

So, my question is whether people who adopted children from foreign countries try to assimilate them completely into American culture, or if they try to raise them with an awareness of their own cultural background? For instance, if you adopted a child from China, would you enroll him or her in Mandarin classes, or in cheerleading or ballet or baseball? Obviously older children can decide for themselves what activities they want to do, but would you encourage or discourage activities related to their biological background?

By the way I am aware that a lot of people here are opposed to foreign adoptions. I know your point of view, I am just curious about this issue.

My baby boy is 9 months. When I say "NO" he sometimes stops and he sometimes doesn't even acknowledge me. Occasionally I'll smack his little hand and he'll pout a little but then returns to the same thing he got smacked for. Am I doing this too early? Do they remember? I don't want to damage him. I'm a firsttime parent, I have no clue.

I live with my husband’s parents cause we cannot afford to live on our own right now and we had nowhere to go. We moved in before I gave birth and since the day my 8 month old daughter came home she has been trying to take over my mother role. She will come right up to me and say...go make a bottle the baby is hungry (when I just fed her an hour ago), or I'm taking Vanessa for a walk go get the stroller ready (without asking me), if I get up in the morning with Vanessa she will walk right into my room and take the baby and walk away (I can’t say anything cause it’s her house). She has been doing this since she was born and now Vanessa doesn’t even know I’m her mom. She says mama to my mother in law instead of me. I have said something before but she took it very personally and refused to help me with the baby until I apologized....the thing is I really really do need the help but she has taken over to the point that every time I go to hold my daughter she wants nothing to do with me when my mother in law is around, she claws at me and cries until she’s held by her and won’t let me feed her, only my mother in law. It just makes me feel so much less of a mother and if I do talk to my mother in law about it I’m afraid she will do what she did last time. I don’t know what to do HELP!
