My son is about a week to week and a half overdue. There are concerns in that he is getting fairly large. While they can't be exact we are looking to be approaching at least the 10 lb mark. I am very apprehensive about having a c-section. I have done my research but that has done nothing to alleviate the fear.
Which in the healing process would be more agonizing, the recovery from the delivery of a 10lb or more baby, or the c-section? Could some moms just share a little about their c-sections please?

This is not my first child, this is my third child and my first son was 9lbs 4 oz. But like they say you forget all the misery and only remember the joy. Thank you in advance.

Alot of teens get pregnant. Then they talk about how much they want the baby but after they have the baby they dont take care of the child usally it is the mother or someone else that does it.

Today my dog was scared of me, I couldn't stand him within 2-4 feet of me all day. I tried so hard not to snap at my daughter. My mom called and put another guilt trip on me (about how my kids are going to be messed up) and so I basically told her to get out of my life, I can't cope with her insulting opinons of me. I got anally organized and was soo tired, but coudn't relax.. I just organized like I wanted everything clean before I die tommorow. Then I get an email from someone who I tried to set bounderies with last week and they basically told me that I am manipulative. I cried for the last hour. First on the tiolet. Then in the shower. Then in bed.. I just bawled. Am i so bad? Why can't people say nice things to me? Am I creating this conflict because I am grumpy lately or are these people really walking all over me? Is this my fault that... am I messing up my kids and being a manipulative *****? And I feel so guilty that my dog is scared of me today...

According to the World Health Organization, mothers should breastfeed their children until they are 2 years of age. Obviously this isn't possible for all couples (painful breastfeeding, adoption etc), but are North American couples wrong for stopping breastfeeding earlier for convenience (to go back to work, because it is hard to work around the schedule etc)? I am not asking this for personal reasons, just more curiousity, because up until recently, I thought you were supposed to wean your child at 9 months - 12 months. (see links: http://www.kathydettwyler.org/detwean.html , http://www.lalecheleague.org/ )

My husband and I agreed that my Mom and Sister would be in the delivery room when I give birth. Now all of the sudden he is saying that he thinks it is unfair that my family gets to be in the room and not his. Should he get to have his family in the room if I don't feel comfortable with it?

I would really like to hear from people that have actually experienced getting preg during the 6 wk period or right after that or at least i want to hear from women who know other women that this has happen to and tell me the experience. thank you!

Without any real life experience to speak of, can teens be responsible parents?

Clearly, there just too many kids having unprotected sex, getting pregnant and for whatever the reason, deciding to keep the baby.

Most of these new parents will remain unmarried and without proper education (let alone that they will have little or no income due to lack of work experience), they will live lower-income level lives.
Is this a proper role model for their babies (the future of our country)?

And then there are too many teen parents like this little drugged-out charmer, from Oklahoma:
"An 18-year-old woman who was arrested after police found what they said appears to be beer in her baby's bottle has been charged with child endangerment."
