Normally you wait until your 6 week check up and get the ok from your Dr.

As long as you're comfortable with it, whenever you feel like it. I would wait until any stitches have dissolved, though.

I've heard women say that their doctors offices were really surprised that they waited the customary six weeks. I think that's just to ensure that you've stopped bleeding. I read somewhere where the new mom said she did it the day after her child was born. So I guess it all depends on how you feel. And yes, don't forget the birth control, even if you're breastfeeding! :D

girl i would do it...they say wait 6 weeks but i don't know anyone who actually waited that long. If you are not completely healed down there then i would say no but if you are healed then have sex! I plan on having sex as soon as i feel up to it after I have my daughter in March (well thats the plan anyways lol) But remember to use birth control because believe it or not you are extremely fertile right now and could get pregnant again easily...not the best idea after just having a baby. good luck hun!

The place where the placenta (afterbirth) detached from inside your uterus may still be healing and you don't want to risk infection. If you must, have him wear a condom and stop if you experience any pain or discomfort. You don't want to be pregnant at your 6 weeks check-up and believe me it happens a lot more than you would think!

Wow... I am impressed you are even thinking about having sex. I would check w/ you dr. before you do anything. Mine said 6 weeks and I didn't think it was a good idea even then! LOL! ;o)

Congrats on your baby! Enjoy... I am sure you've heard it before, but the time will FLY by!

I would wait until after your 6 week check-up, but it's up to you.

I didn't even want to think about sex until my daughter was six months old. I had absolutely no interest. But I think you have to give your body at least six weeks to heal.
