I'm still somewhat young, but i seriously want to have a child. My bf (soon to be husband) seems uncomfortable when I bring it up, so it makes me think he doesn't want children. Since he doesn't want children it makes me think twice about marrying him

We just found out that we're having a girl, due in September.

Our last child was a son, born 2 years ago. I had a LOT of complications with him, so we're praying that everything goes well with this one.

1) Should we register?

I've asked this before, but I want to know what etiquette would say. Since it's a difference gender, do we go ahead and register at an actual store?

2) During the first week of her birth, we want our family of four to have a week to ourselves without having anyone there to interefere with our bonding/adjusting.

How should we explain this to family who will be moaning and groaning about this?

How should we handle drop-bys?

We know it's strict, but we REALLY want to give our small family a head start. We'd be happy to let people come over after that first week though.

My Fiancee wants me to go to job corps with him once our baby is born. The problem is, I am afraid that if I leave the baby at home with Sally ( my mother in law), the baby will become attached to her and when I get back, I won't have the same connection with the baby as she does. Am I just paranoid, or is it possible the baby will take to Sally better because I am not around?

If one of the parents has very dark brown, thick curly hair and the other has corse, thick strawberry blonde coloured hair, which one is the baby most likely to have? If both parents have thick hair,is the baby likely to come out with hair when born?? Does the dark element overtake all other colours??

Lie to them and say the baby was cute? I was just wondering what most people do in situations like that. My sisters baby is not cute at all but everyone seems to say it is and I know they are lying. I know the kid has a long future ahead of it and more then likely looks are gonna change but why lie, right? What would you do?

This is my 4th pregnancy, and I am considering a home birth this time around. I went to 3 different hospitals for my previous births, and I was not overly pleased....

The problems are:
1. I live in an apartment, so I have neighbors who will probably not enjoy hearing me scream.

2. I have kids at home, and I do NOT want them to hear me scream. I can send them to their grandparents, but not in the middle of the night...

3. I have very little tolerance for pain, so I KNOW I will scream. Well... maybe I try to cry instead of screaming. (Yeah, my other births were unpleasant.)

My questions are:
* If a woman give birth at home, is the birth more relaxed and therefore less painful?
* Any idea what I can do about my kids if it's the middle of the night?
* Is it unrealistic for me to consider a home birth under these conditions?

Please feel free to share your own experiences with home births.

My husband and his sister are almost 3 years apart and he thinks this is the perfect gap. We're trying to "plan" our family, and I was wondering others opinions. How far apart are your kids/siblings. How well to they/you get along? Just curios, and thanks for the input!

I have done it every year for the summer because I am a stay at home mom and I don't have to take off work or anything. She pays me a fairly decent amount but now that gas prices are going up and her kids are getting older (8 & 10 and mine are 3 & 4) I just don't want to do it anymore. I know I save her alot of money by not charging her as much as it would cost to put them in some sort of daycare but this was my oldest sons first year in school, and now that summer is approaching I want to take some time off. Am I being selfish? Should I watch her kids again for her? If not what should I say to her?

Just curious about your story on how you find out! Plus, did you wait awhile before telling everyone, or did you tell everyone right away?

My daughter is 3 and a half months old . I had an emergency c-section with her and everything went fine . My incision healed good but after it healed when I would lay a certain way I would get a sharp pain in the right side of my lower abdomen. Kind of like someone was pinching me with plyers. Ever since then I have had weird pains now and then in my whole lower abdomen . About two weeks ago if that I was feeling my abdomen and felt a lump in the far left side ( the same feeling lump as if your glands are swollen ) . My stomach has been sore when I would push around and feel it and It feels like there is stuff in there that shouldnt be. I feel the top of my stomach and then the lower portion and it feels wrong ... The other night I had a gut sinking BAD feeling and a terrible stomach ache.
I dont know if you have ever heard that in some cases surgeons are known to leave equipment or even gauze inside a patients body .. it happens mostly with heavy people and im a heavy weighing 260

I'm sooo relieved I just got my period after not having it for 3 months due to having a new baby and I cannot let that happen again for a good 2 years. I have 2 in diapers already and not looking for a 3rd at the moment. I want you guys to give me your honest opinions on which method I should go with for your own personal experience.

I have a 2 mos old baby, i was offered a job making good money but was unable to take it because I couldn't find anyone to watch her( that was trust worthy) while I went to work, so they gave the job to someone else, I was accepted back to school for august, but it is 3 hours from where I live now, I dont think i can do it because again I dont have a sitter down there, and no way to get all of our belongings there, I just dont know how I am going to care for a newborn and go to school all by myself, I am so depressed because I feel I am going to have to turn this down as well, I recieve government assistance right now because I cant work, I cant support us, it sucks because I have always been independent, and hard working, I feel like im going to be on assistance for forever and turn into the single mom on welfare, I dont wanna be like this
any advice, I dont know what to do, her father just up and left us, dont know where he is

I dont want to sound like totally superficial or whatever, but I am curious...I am getting to the age where I am thinking of having kids...I take real pride in my body, i work out do what I need to do and i am wondering if I have a child will I always look different? Will stretch marks go away, will I be able to tighten back up, or does being a mom mean looking different? I know it sounds horrible, but I have a few friends that have kids and well they are a far cry from what they used to look like...

Ok before you all freak out just listen.
You need a certificate to get married, you need a license to drive, to practice medicine, to cross into other countries, etc. BUT, anyone, any couple, can pop out as many kids as they want or don't want and you don't need to do anything. The amount of kids that grow up today with drug addicted parents, in bad family environments, to underage mothers with fathers that don't want them, living on welfare and not getting anything from it, is ridiculous. I am sorry but you should be required by law to apply for a license to have a baby. Whatever idiot said its a human right to procreate was well an idiot. Not that the criteria needs to be all crazy, but maybe a stable job, without a history of domestic violence and drug addiciton would be a good jumping off point. illegal pregnancy could be averted by post conception application, but if denied application, you have two options abortion or get yoruself to meet the criteria or your baby goes adoption
