If one of the parents has very dark brown, thick curly hair and the other has corse, thick strawberry blonde coloured hair, which one is the baby most likely to have? If both parents have thick hair,is the baby likely to come out with hair when born?? Does the dark element overtake all other colours??

Usually dark coloring (dominant) will overtake the blonde (recessive), but you also have to take the rest of the family into account. If dark haired parent has many blonde relatives the child may get two blonde 'markers' and end up blonde. If both parents have a similar trait it is more likely the child will also inherit that trait, but not guaranteed. I do not know which is dominant in regards to hair thickness and curl.

My husband has medium straight dark brown hair and I have thick curly dark blonde hair, our three children tuned out with:
#1 son - Very course, very thick light blonde
#2 daughter - very fine, very minimal wave, medium blonds
#3 son - medium thickness, moderate curl, dark brown

It's all amazing!

There is really no way to tell since there are many variations in between. Yes, it is true that dark hair is more common and is the dominant gene but my daughter is the perfect example of how you can never really tell. My husband and I both have thick dark brown hair, as do both sets of parents and all siblings. My daughter has very fine, cornsilky blonde hair.

Supposedly dark is the dominate and light would be recessive. I have seen alot of exceptions, but who knows, they never showed me a DNA confirming parentage. I have seen red be very a very persistent trait, like maybe a dark auburn. Thickness and curls are a roll of the dice, but I promise you that whatever the baby's hair is like, even if they are one of those little bald sweeties, if it is yours, you will think they are the most beautiful being God ever created!

There really is no way to tell. My son has golden blonde hair. I have dark auburn, and I thought his father had blonde hair but I found it was dyed. His hair color is about the same as my mother's.
