My partner and I aren’t married, but my daughter has his 2nd name.
I’m planning on having another in the new-year and would love a son to name after my dad who died when I was a baby. There hasn’t been a boy born in my family in 30years and I would love a son to carry on my dads/family 2nd name.
Do you think it confuses a family that my son and I would have the same second name and my daughter and my partner would have a different 2nd name? If we get married my son would be the only one with a different name. Is this fair? Or do you think he might feel special, that he has an important role to fill?

I have a few stretch marks on my tummy. Some are light and some are really dark. Lately I have been using Palmer's massage lotion for stretch marks. Some of them have lightened up a little more. I was wondering if any of you mothers out there who had strech marks while pregnant could give me some advice or tell me weather or not yours went away after the birth of your child.

I've had this on my mind for a few weeks now, my husband works 55-60 hours a week, just got a new job, that he says he likes, but i'm a homemaker! I have a 1yr old son (my hubby and I are against daycare) so I stay home, I run the errands, do the laundry, cook, clean... everything that needs to get done along wtih take care of our son. Well i'm around about 2 months pregnant, my hubby is excited, but now that i'm tired and have less energy, i feel guilty. I feel guilty being able to sleep till 9am when my son wakes, because my hubby gets up at 5:30. Why do I feel guilty? Is this just a hormonal thing? I feel as if I do nothing nearly compared to what he does for this family. Am I right to feel this way?

People see someone with a child having a "tantrum" in the store assume it is because the child needs better parenting? Why is this always the first assumption? I have a child that has Sensory Integration Disorder and sometimes we can not avoid situations that set her off. It is not a "tantrum" when she is screaming and flailing, she is in the "fight or flight" mode and her brain is going into its primal mode trying to protect her from whatever that trigger was. (Sometimes the color blue, sometimes the people, sometimes the texture of her clothing) Because she is very high functioning you dont notice untill she gets to this overwhelmed state. But what do I always see on here, and hear when I go out...
Tantrums need "spankings" "Time outs" "better parenting"
Perhaps it isn't a discipline problem and people need to quit making judgements, or am I wrong?

Im due in January and this is our first baby, i was just wondering can you just use the pump to pump milk from your breast and just feed the baby through the bottle, or do you actually have to breast feed the whole time, right now thinking of the fact of having to breast feed my child in public makes me a little eerie and i dont want to do that, i would much rather just do it in my home and feed them with a bottle out in public, anyone have any advice?

As I get older (20s) more and more single women have kids. My friend says that your bodies will forever be changed after kids. This has me afraid of even trying to date a woman with kids (among other reasons). But can you tell me, seriously, does your body return to it's same goodness you had before the kid(s)

I don't wnat to start a heated debate, I just want to know what your honest thoughts about circumcision are. I don't have a strong opinion either way and believe mostly that Circumcision or not it's fine as long as you think it's the very best for your child.

My sisters boyfriend got residential custody of their 4yr. old. He will not let her take her child out, he only allowes her to come and see her when he says it's okay. She did not give full custody to him. Yet she said the child could resign with him. That is where the child is living. Is she still allowed to pick up her child?

I just found out that my next door neighbor is a sex offender for molestation and rape of a child under 14 years of age. I feel REALLY uncomfortable about it especially that I have a little girl. Has anyone else gone through this, and what should I do?

Boyfriend and I of 5 months are just over 1 month pregnant.... (age 24 and 32). Crazy and "wrong", I know, but after the intial shock, we are both excited and ready to give it our all. I am 100% certain he will not leave. We have talked about this soooo much and since we first met we have both decided we want to be with each other for the rest of our lives. It's an indescribable connection that I woud have never believed myself until he came along.

We're both in stable careers; I own a house; we are on the same maturity level, share the same values, morals, and desires; have excellent communication(both patient, respectful, very honest, and understanding - can talk through ANYTHING) etc.

I believe everything happens for a reason and I do not believe in abortion in this case, as we are capable of raising this child in a loving, nuturing, stable environment. I want to hear your thoughts/advice so I know what to expect when it's time to inform my family, boss, and co-workers.

I don't know how to say this. I'm not pregnant. Please no harsh words because I'm having a real hard time with this. Been depressed for days. I guess I wanted a baby so bad my body changed as if I was pregnant. I had all the signs, felt the baby move this past month, felt like twitches, or flutters. I'm so pissed off and I'm blaming God which I know i shouldn't. The doc told me I have no ovaries. Why are so many unfit mothers having babys. I'm not talking about anyone on here. You all are great. I am so freaking angry that so many unfit women are having babies. I want a baby to love, and take care of and help grow and just to be there for him/her. I want a child so bad and I'm really pissed that I a loving, caring, nuturing woman with a huge heart and many more traits can't have a baby. I don't have money to adopt and i don't want to foster because usually as soon as you fall in love with the child they go right back home. Has anyone done this or known someone who did what i did?

I just took my son off the bottle, I haven't given him a bottle all day long, he's 2 1/2 years old, so it's something that I needed to do. He already uses regular cups to drink liquids, but he wont drink milk from one, and if he does drink, it wont be much. He does eat cereal in a bowl, and I know he takes some milk that way.
My question is, since most likely I wont get him to drink a whole glass of milk, which foods can I give him that will provide him with everything that milk has?
Also, which vitamins are best for a child his age? I've never given him any type, so I have no idea where to start.
Thank you in advance for all your opinions! God bless!

Please do not make any comments about how old he is, and that he shouldn't be drinking a bottle anymore, it was my choice to do so, and don't need or want any type of criticism. I just want information on foods.
