I have a few stretch marks on my tummy. Some are light and some are really dark. Lately I have been using Palmer's massage lotion for stretch marks. Some of them have lightened up a little more. I was wondering if any of you mothers out there who had strech marks while pregnant could give me some advice or tell me weather or not yours went away after the birth of your child.

Stretch marks are in fact scars. Despite the claims of lots of creams, they do not prevent them (they are usually genetically passed to you anyway) and they do not heal them. Mederma is about the closest thing to getting rid of them that you can find because it works on scars.

Otherwise, they will fade quite a bit...until next time when you'll get a few new ones. :)

Stretch marks wont disappear they will only fade over time and the lotion will help that. Mine have gone from red to a transparent skin colour and are still really visible 18 months later which is fine with me as I have no desire to wear a midrif top.

They are actually a form of scarring, so while the lotion will help minimize them (and BTW, pure cocoa butter is just as effective and probably cheaper), they will always be there. Bear them with pride.
