You know those multi-colored ball pits in places like Mcdonalds? Would you allow your clildren to play in them. I've found dipers, food, puke and other "interesting" things in there...YUCK!!

No Way - those pits are a breeding ground for Bacteria. I watched a news special where they swabbed the balls and bumpers and analyzed them - all of them had e.coli , staph, and every other infection not to mention urine and feces - they should make those things illegal.

I agree those things are nasty, but I don't buy into all these urban legend nonsense. This story of Kevin has been around for many years and it's not true! This story was posted here just a couple of days ago in fact, don't know if it was you or someone else. Just STOP IT! Most play areas don't even HAVE ball pits anymore because they were so filthy. Let's move on people and stop trying to scare everyone!

My son is just now getting old enough to play in a ball pit. However I dont plan on letting him. (At least not the public ones) They really freak me out. I never even liked then when I was a kid. I vote no!

NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

Ironically, I received an e-mail about such not so long ago and it was stating how obviously dangerous these places are. Many McDonald's and such have taken out there ball pits in the last few years. In the e-mail I read it spoke of a boy who complained about his butt hurting and it turned out he set on a heroine needle and died of it (he was 2). There was also mention of a boy who died (age 3) of a snake bite due to a nest in the balls. Plus, most places only clean their balls out once a month and when they do they find rotten food, diapers, needles, and traces that prove someone has had sex or masturbated in the pits.

PLEASE, ANYONE READING...DO NOT LET YOUR KIDS PLAY IN THESE POTENTIALLY DEADLY PITS. I would rather hear my kids whine about me being unfair then to have one of them lose their life due to playing in some random ball pit.

The heroin needle thing is an urban legend, folks...

I let my kids play in them. I go in them, too, if adults are allowed in. They're fun. And, germs are *everywhere*, anyway - not just in ball pits and playgrounds.

Have your kids wash their hands before they eat. Try to teach them to keep their hands out of their mouths. Then, let them have some fun.

I played in them as a kid and I'm fine.....

what about other things kids do that are gross? I saw a kid in a stroller running his hands along the tires as his mom pushed him and then put his fingers all over his face and mouth.

I think going into a fast food restaurant is gross enough, but if you're going to go sit at a table i can't think it's that much worse.

Oh goodness no! I've heard of so many nasty things in ball pits. My hubby used to work at McD's many years ago and he never remembers them ever ever ever cleaning it! Good Luck

It's funny how most of us never think of this, but we think about wiping their hands before they eat and after they play outside...thanks for the info, now I'll kinda have a change of mind

No, we have one that we bought at home. And btw, I would never allow my kids to play at the playgrounds at fast food restaurants either. They are pretty dirty from what I have seen!

NO WAY!!!

Oh my goodness, not after I have heard about what is in them. Not only that, but I just don't like the idea of my son crawling around touching all of the balls that are covered in snot and saliva and whatever elsle the previous child had on his/her hand(s).
