I don't wnat to start a heated debate, I just want to know what your honest thoughts about circumcision are. I don't have a strong opinion either way and believe mostly that Circumcision or not it's fine as long as you think it's the very best for your child.

Pro.
Uncircumcised males have more of a tendency to have yeast infections under the foreskin. It is also true that their sexual partners have a greater likelihood of cervical cancer.
From a personal standpoint, I think that circumcised males are cleaner and that their penises are more attractive looking.

Both of my sons are circumcised because I wanted them to resemble my husband. Yes, circumcision is healthier for guys. My pediatrician endorses circumcision, however he respects if parents disagree with him. Insurance won't always cover the cost of the procedure. The cost could be a consideration for a low income family. This should be a decision you and the child's father make together.

Here in California it is banned to make any alterations to your dogs. We can no longer cut the ears or tails on our Dobermans in certain cities. Yet people find it OK the cut of a piece of a child's penis.
Some say it looks better is this Vanity i hear.
none of my kids have had a circumcision if they like they can have it done when they are older. I wasn't about to have it done for them.

Con. You wouldn't do it to a girl, why on earth would anyone subject their boy to that?

There is NO good reaon to cut a newboren's genitals. RIC in the USA is a product of decades of ego, vanity, mythology, cruelty and stupidity.

I think it's completely up to you. My boys are not circumsized, because their dad is not so he didn't want them to. As well, I kinda felt like the doctors at the hospital were against it, when they asked us, there was clearly judgement in their voice and a nice smile when we said no LOL! Plus where I live, it costs $200 to have it done, not covered by insurance.

But personally, I have to say, on a man, I like the look of a circumsized penis better.

In the 'Search for questions', type in "Is circumcising babies wrong?" asked by Misteramara 6 days ago. Read it, and decide for yourself.

I thought it was better for hygiene reasons. We had it done when the baby was a week old and used a local anesthetic.

Better circumcized.

It was originally designed for religious purposes: so that men could NOT masturbate comfortably, it was frowned upon. But today mostly it's recommended for cleanliness and to avoid infections while they are babies, and into adulthood.

You should ask men this question. Go to the men's health section.
