I took a pregnancy test (over the counter) because my period is now about 5 days late. I have been off the pill for about a month now and I know that that could cause it to be irregular for about 6 months. But I am wondering if my test could have been a false negative from too much liquid from the test. I drank some water a while before, then about a half hour before I took it I drank about maybe 9 oz. I am just wondering if this could have resulted in an incorrect answer. How much liquid is too much before you take a test? I am also worried because on monday the 23th I am having a minor surgery, but I will need to take some medication to help me calm down and be less stressed and anxious. I am scared that if I am pregnant and they give me this medicine, that it will hurt the baby. Please only answer if you truly want to help and have advice that is backed up.

This is totally hypothetical. I just know that as a woman gets older her chances of having a baby with Downs grows. Is this the same situation for a man? IE: if the woman is in her late 20's buth the man in in his mid 40's what is their chance of having a child with Downs? Thanks

Yesterday after 2 weeks of waiting to miscarry I had to have a D and C. To my surprise it was not nearly as terrible as I had expected.... until last night. My procedure went smoothly and I was out of the hospital less then an hour and a half after surgery. We even stopped to get something to eat on the way home. When I got home I felt ok just tired so I slept for a few hours. When I woke up my neck back shoulders and arms were so stiff and sore I could swear i'd been hit by a truck. A BIG ONE! Ive only had very minor cramping and very little bleeding but my upper body just plain hurts. I was told I would have a sore throat for a couple days and I have heard of alot of people getting shoulder pain after a general anestetic (sp?) but this seems extreme. Has any one else experianced this?

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and I was 2 cm and he stripped my membranes. For about two days after that I had period type cramping and brown bloody show. The cramping had been gone for about 24 hrs until about 30 minutes ago when I went to the bathroom and and there was a chunk of brownish mucous in the toilet with little pieces around it I have never seen that amount in the toilet before, just always a little on the toilet paper. I had a little bit of cramping afterwards but then it stopped. I don't know what to think.......

So a lot of people on this forum seem to think that if a girl is not using the pill, a shot, etc. and only using a condom she is irresponsible. They urge her to get on the pill or another form besides condoms. Did anyone ever think about those individuals that are allergic to pretty much all kinds of birth control? I am one of those people, everything besides condoms makes me very sick and the doctors and I decided it would be safer for me to only use condoms.

My fiance is getting a vasectomy as soon as possible, and until then I will keep using condoms. They are just as safe as any other type--and don't make me throw up, bloat, or break into hives.

So what do you guys think? Is it irresponsible to use only a condom, or is it just as good?

Not that my partner and I are planning on having a baby yet.
Did you save money before you got pregnant to prepare for the costs of a baby?
How much did you save? Did it cover a lot of costs?
Is it possible to raise a baby and study too?
How much does a baby cost a week?
And finally are they really a joy to have (like everyone always tells me)?

Should sex education not only be compulsory for both males and females,
BUT for girls only- include medical footage of actual child births in full colour and from the clearest possible angle so as to deter them in a rather graphic manner.
And invite teen mothers to give class talks about their real-life experiences etc?
Perhaps 13 yrs old is an ideal age to commence?

[A thought experiment.].

what else can we do to decrease this most undesirable social phenomena (which statistically clearly illustrates continued poverty/welfare dependency)?

Your thoughts as mothers?

Im 21 years old. My boyfriend is 25. We just found out we are expecting. This was not planned, but it happened. I am in college and he is an apprentice in the union. My parents, especially my dad, aren't the most understanding people. My boyfriend does not want to be a part time dad and wants to live with his kid. So therefore we looked into buying a house, but we dont make enough money yet to qualify for a loan. We also rather not waste our money on an apartment. Any sugguestions?

I always collect fees monday morning for that week- for obvious reasons. I have a new family starting next week who asked if they could pay on Fridays when they get paid. Of course I said no, but that I would work with them to get them to that point of being able to pay on Mon. mornings.

Any suggestions of what deal we can come up with?

Does this make sense:

Monday they have $125 due. Pay nothing.
Friday Pay $150 ($25more)
Monday they have $25 paid for
Friday (owe$100) but pay $150
Monday they have $50 paid for
Friday (owe $75) but pay $150
Monday they have $75 paid for
Friday (owe $50) but pay $150
Monday they have $100 paid for
Friday (owe $25) but pay $150
Monday they pay nothing cuz I collected $125 the friday before.
Friday, they take the $125 out of their checks for that next Monday morn.

Does this seem like it would help them? Am I missing something? It would take them 5 weeks to get to the point of paying in advance. I think that's a fair deal.

I have never seen the term used, except here at Yahoo! Answers. I think it is referring to a certain group, similar to the terms prep, jock, etc. Am I correct? What does "emo" mean?

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
