You know that nice booklet of information that comes with every drug on the market.... IT TELLS YOU EXACTLY HOW TO TAKE THE DRUG, THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO RELY ON HEARSAY:

If this is the first time you are using this medication and you are not switching from another form of hormonal birth control (e.g., patch, other birth control pills), take the first tablet in the pack on the first Sunday following the beginning of your menstrual period or on the first day of your period. If your period begins on a Sunday, begin taking this medication on that day. For the first cycle of use only, use an additional form of non-hormonal birth control (e.g., condoms, spermicide) for the first 7 days to prevent pregnancy until the medication has enough time to work. If you start on the first day of your period, you do not need to use back-up birth control the first week.

im not too farmiliar with that brand of birth control. But I know when I was younger I was on birth control (I forget what brand) and I remember the doctor telling me that it takes 1 whole month or one whole cycle (whichever is longer) to be effective. Until you get your period for the first time after you started with birth control, I would use a condom and practice safe sex. Hope I could help.

I would ask your doctor or the clinic that you get it from. It really depends on the type. I know with mine, my doctor said take it faithfully for a month, before risking anything.

your best bet is to be safe and wait the month using condoms or something in the meantime.
