my husband, not knowing about 1 year old rule, accidentally fed our first kid a bottle of milk at around six months, she was just fine, and i would have never known if he didn't tell me like a month later. Then with my second one i moved him to the whole milk diet at once (didn't have any transitioning - we just ran out of formula one night) and he was just as happy and fine, he was a little over a year old though. try it and if the baby is fine with it then it's all ok. I wouldn't hurry if i could though, formula has special elements and ingridients to help babies develop that average cow's milk doesn't.
Babies do need to have whole milk until 2 or 3 unless they are overweight, to have enough of good fats and calcium for their brain and body development.

OUr son was on whole milk at 8.5 months- but with a doctor's premission because he refused any formula. Long story- was breastfed diff. ped. who told us to switch to soy- huge mistake. He hated formula and wouldn't take it. So, because he was on table food, vitamins, and was eating well, he was on whole milk at 8.5 months and off a bottle.

Our daughter- she is getting 1 cup of whole a day at 11 months, still breastfeeding, and eating solids now.

Never 2% or 1%- the fat in the milk is necessary for the growth of the protective layer on the Myelin Sheeth on spinal column- where nerves are. It is very important to baby to have that.

Most doctors will say 1 year.

The doctors and American Academy of Pediatrics suggests whole milk at 1 year of age. BUT my daughter self weaned from the breast at 9 months and her doctor told me to just put her on whole milk. So I'm sure 1 months isn't going to make much of a difference in case.

Good luck!

11 months should be fine. My cousin who will be a year next month has been drinking whole milk since she was 10 months and the dr. said it was perfectly ok.
But evryone is different so I would double check with the pediatrician just to be sure!

i did not start up giving my son any milk until eventually he replace into around 11 months old. He replace right into an excellent guy and hitting all his milestones so his physician theory he replace into waiting. i could pay attention on your docs suggestion, all human beings is going to tell you what their physician tells them or what the internet or reported policies say (that's many times 3 hundred and sixty 5 days). She would not would desire to be completely converted by her first bday. there is not something incorrect with beginning off to introduce it around that ingredient and make a mild swap. i could wait a minimum of until eventually you have been nearer to a year, that's my opinion although, i'm not physician. I do basically not think of there's a would desire to hurry something like complete milk if the toddler is getting formulation and all their nutrition different places.

I waited until right around 11 months to start transitioning my daughter. Only try a little at a time, and make sure to keep an eye out for any kind of allergy to it! Loose stool, gas, upset tummy, that kind of thing. By the time 12 months rolls around, you should be good to go!

no whole milk til age one. there is no transition you just stop formula once they are one and the childs doctor oks it. talk to your childs doctor my son went to whole milk at one year with no problem he liked it better than formula. when the formula goes so does the bottle. they only need a cup or two a day also since they eat pretty much anything you eat

I got pregnant when my first was 9 months old. I was dizzy all the time. My doctor told me to ween her onto whole milk when she was 10 months old. You can ween her. I would start during the day first and gradually at night. They like the comfort before they go to sleep.

I started giving my daughter whole milk at one. You can try giving him whole milk now, i don't think it should be a problem. He may not even notice, my daughter looked as if she knew something was different with the milk. But adjusted quickly.

I also have always heard one year. I doubt the extra month is going to harm him, but I also don't think its worth the risk. Also, try using condensed milk (you know the stuff in the can) cause its cheaper and babies don't know the difference. Also I believe that whole milk is not needed if your baby is already chunky, as it is just a way to add extra fat to the diet, which is probably not very necessary in todays diet.
