I missed a day of taking my birth control, and my boobs hurt, my stomach hurts, and I get sick every once and a while...but only at night. If I'm pregnant, is continuing my birth control going to harm the baby?

I am now 3 weeks late for my period, but i take (Zovia) birth control pills everyday. I called my doctor and she said that it is normal for some women not to get there period while on the pill she said that it is called a dry month. But i have had my period on time for the last 2 1/2 years without a dry month except for now. Is it even possible to be pregnant?

I am 35 weeks pregnant and having a hard time getting my husband to understand all that goes into a pregnancy. We argue all the time about what I should be able to do. I have a 3 year old and my husband has a 6 year old, both boys, and I take care of them all day everday. My husband and I have only been married for a year and I have accepted his son as my own since his own mother disowned him. My husband does not undertand what it is like to be pregnant and he is not empathatic towards me or helpful. He thinks b/c other pregnant woman can handle working and taking care of kids on their own that i should not have a problem. He doesn't think that i should need that much help after the baby is born either. He asked me today "are you pretty much going to be helpless and decrepid?" Ya thats how i want to view myself while i'm laid up and sore. I feel like he thinks I can come home from the hosptial and just go back to cooking and cleaning. How do I get him to understand? And help me?

Generally speaking…

If a young, plus-sized, married woman goes shopping with her mother and her mother suggests looking through and trying on a “maternity” clothing item, is it because she is trying to support (without upsetting) her plus-sized daughter or because she is expecting/hoping for a grandchild?

At one time, you couldn't know the sex of a baby until it was born . These days, a doctor can find out the sex of an unborn baby . Many parents would rather not know if it's a boy or a girl until it's born . I say you shouldn't know if it's a boy or a girl until the baby's born . I've known people who say they should know so they can shop for the baby . NOW -- How can you shop for an unborn baby if you'd rather not know if it's a boy or a girl until the it's born ? Do you really have to know if it's a boy or a girl before you can do any shopping ? How did people shop for an unborn baby in the days when you couldn't know if it was a boy or a girl until it was born ?

I know some of the questions are stupid or seem silly and ignorant but some people are scared or young and looking for genuine information. *I* know that you can't believe everything you read but some people don't. SO why is it alot of people answer with dangerous misinformation...how hard is to look up real info and back it up with where they found that info? Or say I have heard instead of stating it like its absolutely a fact?

Just curious what everything thinks...and no need to be rude :)

I already wrote about this topic before...when I had a pregnancy scare in the past, I received much opposition from so-called "friends" about having the kid. People discouraged me from keeping it & kept rationalizing reasons about why abortion wasn't completely bad(I'm pro-life). Here I thought I was decently capable of raising a kid if need be(I have an education, >1 job, I'm not a teen, etc), but apparently others didn't think so. Then yesterday, my friend & I were discussing this & she agreed that they were rude & incorrect, then she said that perhaps they didn't realize just how capable I am, & pointed out what SHE considered to be the #1 factor that makes people judge if someone would be capable of raising a kid or not.

So just curious, what do YOU think is the #1 most important factor that makes someone capable(or not) of raising an unplanned kid? Is it the person's job/financial stability, or relationship status, or age, or drug/party habits(or lack thereof), etc?

I have a neighbor who is pretty nosy and opinionated. She's been a problem in the past and I've let most of it go. She's in her late 30s and has 2 teenage boys.

I went out the door only to find her and several other neighbors drinking in the yard. Before I could get back inside i was roped into conversation with her. At some point it came up that I was still nursing my 15mth old.

She stated point blank that she was way to old to be nursing. I told her that as long as Chloe'Beth still wanted to nurse and I was still able to and wanted to then I would continue to nurse her. Her reply left me speechless and a pretty angry. She said "Your a new mom you aren't smart enough to know anything about that."

I couldn't even find the words for a rebuttle. I just excused myself and went back inside. I'm furious how could someone say something like that. She's always trying to parent me but this was just too much.

What are your opinions on breastfeeding? How should I handle this neighbor?

I was wondering from parents of 2 or more children how do I prepare my 1st child for a new baby and how do I make sure he is getting enough attention and doesn't feel he is being replaced by the new baby. He is 16 months now so he would be at least 2 when the next child is born.
