Your ex-husband wants custody of your 18-year-old son just so he won't have to pay child support? I don't know why he needs to move to Erie Pennsylvania, though.
You need to speak to your lawyer. Unless your son has a good reason to move in with his father, if you have been raising him successfully so far, I don't know that it's going to be easy for your husband to get custody. Also, your son is quite old - 18 - and he may have his own ideas, such as moving out to live on his own. We need more information but actually, the only true answer will come from your own lawyer.
Good luck!

IF the 18-year old is out of High School, and is not going to college, then there is no custody and no child support. If he goes to college, there is child support to be paid until graduation or age 22. Why would you consent to giving up your son? If he takes the son, you will have to pay child support.
Don't listen to your ex- about this. Talk to a lawyer so you get the truth.

Your son is 18 and he has his choice where he wants to live with. Anyways if you son has graduated from high school and he doesn't pay child support anymore. Once they are 18 and out of high school child support stops and he a adult that can make choices. It should be his choice now not his father

Unlike some of you (you know who you are), there are no custody rights for ANY 18 yr. old. School doesn't matter, an Adult is not a Child.
Learn to type. I hope you don't write like that.

why is he paying child support for an 18 year old?
True he wouldn't have to pay support if he has custody of son. But he will have to provide support.
But your son is also old enough to have a say where he wants to live.

Your son is an adult. He can live with whoever he wants or on his own unless he is mentally retarded. Unless your husband agreed to pay college expenses child support ends at age 18 anyway.

sorry, but if your son is 18 then you lose all custodial rights, because they are legally an adult, and your husband no longer has to pay child support anymore any ways

18 years old. This person is legally an adult. It wouldn't matter if your ex wanted custody or not.
