To be certain, you should take her to the ped and get a referral to an eye specialist, but maybe this will make you feel better until then. My nephew went through a phase like this at about 18 months. All of a sudden he appeared to be severely cross-eyed. It turned out to be nothing - just the way he was growing, but still weird to look at. After a few months everything went back normal. It happened to him, but not his brothers.

I think my son did it for at least his first 2 months of life (maybe between 8-10 weeks old til he was more focused on things). If they aren't constantly in the crossed position then I don't believe it's harmful. If they are always crossed then that is definitely something you should take up with the baby's pediatrician. I used to think it was funny when my son was a newborn and he'd stare at something and go all cross-eyed. They don't have any control yet at that age, it's normal.

Make an appointment with her pediatrician and ask for a referral to an eye doctor. Sometimes these kind of things can be fixed if they are caught early. My stepson had an eye that pointed in more than other, and although the opthamologist found nothing wrong, I was glad to be 'better safe than sorry'. I would get it checked out. Even if they find nothing wrong, if it hasn't improved in a year, take her back. Most eye problems tend to worsen with time. Good luck!

Yes, talk to her ped and get her referred to an optometrist or opthamolagist.
I had crossed eyes (the proper name is strabismus) that was diagnosed at around age 1. I started wearing bifocal glasses at age 2, and I had surgery at age 5 & 8.
All is fine now! I stopped wearing glasses as a teenager, but I now wear them again for typical age-related reasons.

That's how I was. I started wearing glasses when I was 2 to help correct it. It means that her right eye is probably weaker than her left eye. When I would try and concentrate, my weaker eye, which is my left eye, would go towards the middle. Glasses will make her eyes straight. However, I'm 21 and still have to wear contacts. But the sooner you get her to the eye doctor, the better.

My niece had what is called a lazy eye.It is not called cross eye any more.Yes take her to the Ped. she needs to get it treated as soon as possible. What was explained to my sister was the muscle that holds the eye straight is too weak so my niece had to wear glasses to strengthen the muscle. She is fine now.So don't worry it's fixable.
She doesn't wear glasses now.

I think she's fine. She's just figuring out how to use her eyes up close.
And by the way, children shouldn't see ANY television before 2 years old!!!
