Nope. You are almost ready. If your water breaks, EAT and then go to the hospital. If you feel like someone is stomping on your abdomen - you are experiencing contractions - start timing them - if they are within 7 minutes apart - try to EAT something and then go to the hospital.
I emphasis on EATING because they do not FEED you at the hospital. You eat only after you give birth and that could be the next day and then some!

If it's been going on and off for a lil while now, perhaps you're in labour..some ppl get extreme back pain...(luckily i never had that)
I would go to emerg as you said it's cramping on the left side......better to be safe than sorry.....it may be nothing, it may be labour or it may be a sign something else is going on.........go get checked out* GoodLuck*

If you are experiencing contractions 5 minutes apart you should. Otherwise, relax, put your feet up, drink some water. If the symptoms do not go away call your doctor or one of the nurse hotlines...

Yes definitely go and get checked out. You can always come home if it is not labor, but there would be nothing more frightening to have the babe at home or in the car.
