I have a 2wk old. I was feeding every 2hrs (doctors orders) but now that she has gained 1lb 6oz since her 3 day wellness check I think we can ease up now. She awoke this morning, I changed her and tried to feed her bcuz she was crying... she never opened her mouth wide enough to latch correctly. Do babies not latch well when they're not really hungry? I gave her to my husband bcuz I was getting frustrated (and my nipple hurt) and now she's fast asleep.

??????????

This is so frustrating!!!!!

My baby is formula fed. I usually mix with Nursery Water, but I've just discovered that he is out. This has never happened before, and he's never used anything besides his bottled water. My mom said to boil water until the market opens. Is boiling really as safe as bottled?

Because I am...
My father in law just started watching our son while my husband and I work. I gave him many bricks of my frozen breastmilk (about 10 6 oz) with the instructions to feed him those and I included a container of formula that was a free gift sample "In case of emergancy".
I am an avid breastmilk supporter. I frown on giving formula. Yesterday when we picked him up I asked how much milk he used he said "3 breastmilk 3 formula" I balked.
I told him that it was for an emergency. he said "oh"
This morning when I dropped him off again I said pointingly "I do not want him to have formula, I gave you that just in case I do not do my job and bring you enough breastmilk" I said "I would sooner throw it out but it was free and it is for "just in case". He looked me in the eye and said "OK"
This evening my husband picked him up and had a bottle that he brought home from his dads. I nursed my son and then a couple hours later I thought "Well let him finish off this bottle and

I'm going back to work soon and plan to breastfeed my baby exclusively for at least 6 months. I work from home in California for a company in Virginia. If I were to look up the laws regarding taking a "nursing break" approx. every 2 hours, would I look under California state laws or Virginia?

It doesn't bother him but it makes me feel terrible!!! Our house is less than 2 years old and I spray outside the house. I found a mosquito on the ceiling tonight, which I killed. Are mosquitos coming through the vent in the ceiling? Our pediatrician recommended a bug strip rather than spraying inside his room. Please help!!!! Thank you.

I am babysitting and the baby is hungry. I have fed her 6 ounces and she keeps wanting more. I am scared of overfeeding her and the mother did not tell me how many ounces she is up to. How much should a 2 month old eat??

a typical 24 hour day would be
6-7 am nurses
10-11 am nurses along with 2-3 ozs of baby cearal
3-4 pm nurses
6-7 pm nurses and eats a 2nds jar of baby food
9-10 pm nurses
I am hoping I am not over feeding him by giving him 2 meals a day and sometimes he really wnats to fed in the morning to. I usually do not give baby cereal in the morning but latly it seems as he could use it. I just want to make sure he is still getting enogh breast milk. Do other babies this age eat like this. He was 6 lbs 7 ounces at birth and is now 17 lbs 6 ounces.

Lately, when I breastfeed my 9 week old, and lay him across my lap with a boppy pillow, he will go to latch on an start to fuss. I pick him up to burp him and he starts to cry more. So I try to give him the other breast and sometimes he'll take it for a minute or two and then cry. I sit him up on my lap and he still cries. He cries a lot. The only thing that stops him from crying is if I stand up and walk around with him. He doesn't eat much when he does feed, he'll only do one breast for a few minutes and that's it. He recently started doing this and I don't know what's wrong.

He got his first vaccine five days ago, Dtap. I don't think it's related, though. He also spits up often and sometimes the spit up looks and smells like curddled milk.

could it be gas, acid reflux, or something else. I am going to call his doc in the morning but I just wanted an experienced mom's opinnion. Thanks.

My son was 9lbs when he was born and at his 2 month visit he was 14 or 16 lbs. (forgot exact weight) well he'll be 4 months on the 23rd of this month and right now he's on 6oz. of formula, but the past week he'll cry after a bottle wanting more. So I gave him an 8oz bottle of formula and he was happy. He not fat or anything. He's solid built and is growing lenght wise like a weed=)
I don't know his exact weight right now, but will know when he gets his 4 month shots this month. I don't want to wait until then to see the pediatrician and ask him about how much he should be eating so I want opinions and advice at the moment from others.
Does 8oz. seem too much at 4 months? Should I go ahead and add solids into his daily routine? How much was your baby eating at this age?

Thanks.

Let's say that you have difficulty conceiving a child and you consider getting a surogate when that child is born is it gonna be your biological child or the other woman's child. I know that some people do it using their own eggs. I just wonder how that works.

My son will be 1 month old tomorrow. He is a 35 weeker. For his feeding before he'll only take about 1 ounce to 1 and a half each feeding. I feed every 2 to 3 hours. Now being almost 1 month old he's only taking 2 and half ounce sometimes 3 ounce at each feeding, is this ok or should he be taking more than 3 ounces now?

And also why does he grunt, and moan and makes all this noises like he is pushing? Even when he isn't pooping

My husband and I are working parents and we're beginning to discuss which foods to start our 5 month old. He is already on rice cereal. I would love to make my own baby food, but I don't have a lot of time to spare. I'd like to know what the easiest methods are for making our own baby foods. Thanks for your help.
